Supreme refuses to involve

The Supreme Court of India has declined to intervene in the statements made Sai Baba by Shankaracharya of Dwarka Peeth Swami Swaroopanand Saraswati. However the apex court said devotees of Sai Baba can file a civil or criminal case against Shankaracharya if they feel their right to worship is hampered.

Swami Swaroopanand Saraswati said, people should not worship Sai Baba who is no God and asked to remove his photographs and idols from temples where he gets the pride of place with Hindu deities. These comments did not go well with the Sai devotees and one of them approached the court asking Swami Swaroopanand Saraswati to restrain from commenting further on Sai Baba.
