The Telangana government has awarded Rupees one crore prize money to India's ace tennis player Sania Mirza who recently won the US Open Mixed doubles title. Sania will be honoured by the Telangana government and CM K Chandrasekhar Rao will hand over the cheque to the US Open winner.

Sania along with Brazilian Bruno Soares won the US Open 2014 Mixed Doubles title and clinched her third Grand Slam title. She dedicate the victory to the nation and for Telangana as she is the brand ambassador of the state.
