Four Hyderabadis plan to join ISIS, arrested

The police have detained four engineering students belong to Hyderabad in Kolkata who were planning to join Islamic State jihadist group fighting in Iraq and Syria. Police sources said since these students have not committed any crime on Indian soil, there was no need to arrest them or book cases against them.

Intelligence and Investigation agencies say that terror groups are using social media platforms to attract Indian youth to join them. Some of the group are encouraging social media users to join the chat without any restrictions added the agencies. The Union government has issued red alert in states like Gujarat, Assam and Kashmir in view of Al-Qaeda announcing a new branch in the Indian sub-continent.
