Sachin, Rekha were made MPs for gains

Aam Aadmi Party has accused the Congress party that it nominated Cricket legend Sachin Tendulkar and actress Rekha for Rajya Sabha just to seek political gains in the elections. AAP Sanjay Singh said that, “Sachin and Rekha did not raise even one question in Rajya Sabha regarding any issue. Their nomination is just useless.”

Meanwhile Sachin has given an explanation regarding his absence in the Parliament. Sachin said in a statement that his brother Ajith Tendulkar underwent a surgery and was busy assisting him. As per Article 101 (4) of the Indian Constitution, the Parliament may declare the seat of the member vacant, only after he or she is absent without permission for a period of 60 days. The absence of Tendulkar is around 40 days at present.
