Won't make regional films

Bollywood filmmaker Karan Johar said he won't produce regional films because it is not his cup of tea and doesn't understand the dynamics involved in vernacular movies. He added that he understands the ethos of Hindi cinema and doesn't understand the ethos of regional cinema and questions how can he put money and expect in return.

Having born and brought up in a Punjabi family, Karan Johar even denied to produce a Punjabi film because he feels he is not in the movie making business just to earn money. Also the owner of Dharma Productions said his company is not public listed out.

Karan, however, feels he is envious of director Rajkumar Hirani who makes entertaining films with strong message. He wished that some day he would do films like Rajkumar Hirani with strong screenplay.
