Billa 2 releases today, amidst fans festive celebrations across the globe. The bi-lingual flick from Thala Ajith had received tumultuous response from fans. In Telugu Billa 2 is named as David Billa. Fans marked the day with festive celebrations for this action entertainer. Crackers were burst, milk abhishekam was performed to huge Ajith cut-outs accompanied by special musical performance. The 129-minute entertainer was released in 880 theatres across the nation. Billa 2, 'overseas screen count 200 plus making it one of the biggest releases for a Tamil film ever.

Billa 2 is the first Indian film to release in 13 French cities. It is also the first Tamil film to release in Belgium. Even war-torn Jaffna in Silence will see Billa 2 in 4 theaters. Billa 2 is a full out and out hollywood style flick with action, tweet fans who finished their first show.

'Billa 2' is the prequel of 2007 film 'Billa' which was directed by Vishnuvardhan. The new edition is directed by Chakri Toleti hit the screens and received thunderous applause from fans.
