Cow to write Jammu & Kashmir Board of Professional Entrance Examination May 04, 2015 18:01

Red-faced officials of a panel in Jammu and Kashmir that issued an admit card to a cow for an entrance test to a professional course said on Sunday they would file a formal complaint to the police to trace the prankster behind the incident. The Jammu and Kashmir Board of Professional Entrance Examinations became the butt of jokes when it emerged that it had issued an admit card to “Kachir Gaw” (brown cow in the Kashmiri language) for a test on May 10 to select candidates for a polytechnic diploma course. The card said the applicant was the daughter of Gur Dand (bull). By Sunday afternoon, embarrassed officials of the board had traced the internet protocol (IP) address of the person who submitted the application on behalf of the cow."This person has the turned the respectable institution of Board of Professional Entrance Examinations into a laughing stock. We have traced the IP address, which apparently is from south Kashmir's Anantnag district,” Farooq Ahmad Mir, the controller of examinations of the board, told Hindustan Times. “It will be followed up by a formal FIR in the next two days since Monday is a holiday," Mir said. The lapse became public when Junaid Azeem Mattu, a spokesman for the opposition National Conference, tweeted images of the admit card, complete with a photo of a brown cow. The board soon became the subject of a series of tweets poking fun at it. Mir told the media that the admit cards were issued through an automated process. Though the process included image recognition software, it could not differentiate between a human’s face and an animal’s picture, he said. "We want strict action against the person. Tomorrow, someone can play bigger mischief and hack our website. We have to create an example. We cannot afford to let him go without punishment. We are receiving mails and SMSs from people asking for action. We want people's faith in the institution to remain intact," Mir said. Mir, the board’s chairman and the law secretary worked through Sunday to address the issue. Education minister Nayeem Akhtar sought an explanation from the board. "Tomorrow we will conduct examinations for medical and other professional courses. We will be lynched if we don't establish our credentials as competent gatekeepers to hold such examinations," said Mir. The National Conference sought an explanation on the lapse from the ruling Peoples Democratic Party. Mattu said in a series of tweets: “The J&K Board of Professional Entrance Examinations issued this roll-number slip to a cow after due verification…I have both the Provisional Confirmation Page for the applicant Ms. Kachir Gaw as well as details of the payment she made to BOPEE.” Former chief minister Omar Abdullah, also the working president of the National Conference, tweeted: “Brilliant. I wish Kachir Gaaw had turned up for the examination.” The board was asked to take the record for Kachir Gaw down from its website, sources said. However, netizens asked the authorities to treat the matter as a prank and to make their computer systems more foolproof. - Manohar

Spicy talk : Aditi Rao May 04, 2015 17:55

Men or women, anybody's pleasure would probably be on the cover of 'GQ', if they are once experienced to know about it. This time, the luck favors a lady who is first of all hot and now turned to be hottest after participating in a photo shoot with GQ. Coming to the talk of the photo, there is nothing to talk much as there as there is nothing on Aditi's body. If specifically observed, you can find one or two hankies here and there. Lets hold on the talks about her bottom for some more time and speak about her upper part. There is a lingerie and she hid it with her hand. Well that is bit disappointing to naughty guys. She even wore a long top which is nowhere hiding her assets. Is it really required in this hot Summer, I doubt.Well coming to the actual area, yes, speaking about the lower part lingerie, it seems to be like transparent, but not actually. More than her exposing, it is her pose that is making the guys to feel the heat even though they sit under AC. Well needless to say, guys will be seen at every retail outlet which sells this magazine, isn't it..?, all the best.By Phani

Facebook opens Internet.org to all developers in response to Net Neutrality concerns May 04, 2015 17:01

Facebook is turning Internet.org, its project to provide free internet to new users, into a platform. The move comes amid criticism of the program’s ‘walled garden’ approach to hand-picking services, and claims that it violates the principles of net neutrality.Criticism of net neutrality has been particularly strong in India, where a zero rating program from operator Airtel ignited raised the issue. Facebook lost a number of partners in India, who withdrew from Internet.org in response to the debate, and that gives today’s announcement some added spice.“Our goal with Internet.org is to work with as many developers and entrepreneurs as possible to extend the benefits of connectivity to diverse, local communities. To do this, we’re going to offer services through Internet.org in a way that’s more transparent and inclusive,” Facebook said in a blog post.In addition, on the user side of things, Facebook said that Internet.org users will soon be able to beyond the initial limits of the portal and search for and use new third-party services. In other words, the service will go from being a static portal to a basic (and free) layer of internet. While the platform will be open to all prospective developers, there are three central principles that partners must to adhere to, Facebook said:- “Services should encourage the exploration of the broader internet wherever possible.” - this is fairly vague, but it looks to imply that locking users inside your app isn’t ok.- “Websites that require high-bandwidth will not be included. Services should not use VoIP, video, file transfer, high resolution photos, or high volume of photos.” - Facebook points out that operators are giving up resources for the project for free, so this is a limit to prevent them totally being taken to the cleaners.- Facebook expects partner services to be optimized for smartphones and feature phones, and be free from JavaScript or SSL/TLS/HTTPS elements.Up to this point, Facebook and its operator partners for Internet.org have been accused of taking a ‘king-maker’ role because they choose the services that are included in free internet portal, and potential promoted to millions of new users. That position of power gives companies selected a potentially big advantage over their competitors - but opening up the platform levels that off, on paper at least.“We’re building an open platform and anyone who meets these guidelines will be able to participate,” Facebook added.Internet.org was first available in a handful of African countries, but it has since expanded to Asia with launches in India (population of one billion plus) and Indonesia (population of 250 million) among others. The ‘open’ platform approach may quell some of the criticism of the program, but it remains to be seen whether companies - and particularly young startups - will have the interest, time and resources to adapt their services to yet another platform. That’s particularly pertinent in India, where many startups are scaling quickly and already have their resources and teams stretched without piling on additional work. - Manohar

Baahubali : Poster talk May 04, 2015 16:40

Baahubali first poster was released recently, but within no time, it was revealed that it was copied from a old Hollywood movie. So to take out that feeling, movie unit has released another poster which directly shows Prabhas this time. In the poster, Prabhas is seen carrying a huge 'Shiva Lingam' in a much more huge body and his muscles seems to be hefty. It clearly reveals the effort Prabhas has put for the film to suit the character perfectly. The water fall can be noticed behind him. The immediate thought that any Prabhas follower get after watching the poster is, they remind about the Prabhas past film Pournami. In a song called “Evaro chudali” , the similar location and the kind of environment can be observed. But the difference is, in that film, the situation is romance and here, it is of devotion. But whatever, lets hope that there would not be any similar poster like this. Already Prabhas fans are suffering from the 1st poster effect. Hope that this poster clears the tension and satisfies their hunger.By Phani

Crashed car for the sake of dog May 04, 2015 16:11

Aston Martin. Any one who loves driving the cars, would fall in love with this costly car. In that sense, not only who loves, but also who hates it too starts loving it after driving this car once. That is the magic behind it. Well I'm not her to advertise any such brands, but to describe an incident which took place in a guy's life who owns this astonishing car.One fine day, a guy belonging to India was traveling in this car at his style of speed, and at his choice of music played in it. He was involved in that music and traveling in a silent colony road. Meanwhile there was a stray dog sitting at the centre of the road. The guy could not notice it unless he comes closer to it. At that time, after watching the dog, he tried to divert the car, immediately to save the life of that dog,  but could not do it completely and was hit for the poll beside. Then, the car was crashed in that accident. The local colony people rushed out hearing that sound and noticed the incident. Fortunately the guy in the car is safe. Later speaking to those local mates, he said that he had no problem as the car was destroyed, because he could save a life of a dog through it. This is a world where only the things are valued more than the fellow human beings. But this guy had even got ready to lose his costly hard earned car just for the sake of a stray dog. Salute to such kind of guys is a minimum thing that we can do for them. BY the way do you know the cost of the car, absolutely 3.5 million.        by Phani

IPL 8: Mumbai Indians beat Kings XI Punjab by 23 runs May 04, 2015 15:47

For much of the season so far, Mumbai Indians openers Lendl Simmons and Parthiv Patel got to quick-fire 20s and 30s, but never really kicked on after that.On Sunday, they shared a brilliant 111-run partnership as the Mumbai Indians defeated the Kings XI Punjab by 23 runs at the Punjab Cricket Association Stadium, in Mohali. This was Mumbai's third victory in a row, and continue to keep themselves in contention for a play-offs berth. The Kings, meanwhile, suffered their seventh defeat in nine games. Despite that stand in about 12 overs, the visitors posted only 172/3 in 20 overs. But as it turned out, the total was more than enough as the Punjab batting line-up once again failed to fire, managing only 149/7.Virender Sehwag once again didn't bother the scorers too much, getting out to Lasith Malinga for two. Glenn Maxwell, back in the side, was promoted to No. 3, but after a couple of boundaries, lost his wicket trying to reverse sweep left-arm spinner Jagadeesha Suchith.Murali Vijay (39) and David Miller (43) then got together and steadied the ship, but the Indian went for a shot too many as he was holed out in the deep off Harbhajan Singh's bowling to make it 86/3 in the 12th over. Skipper George Bailey came in and took time to get going, and with the required rate always climbing, the Mumbai bowlers didn't allow Miller and Bailey to hit boundaries. With Miller gone in the 17th over, off Malinga, and Bailey and Wriddhiman Saha unable to strike big, it became too tough an ask for the hosts.Earlier, Simmons (71) and Parthiv (59) played some delightful shots to set the ball rolling for Mumbai. Patel showed his intent in the fifth over bowled by Mitchell Johnson, smashing him for 17 runs. Mumbai reached 51 in six overs and the right-left combination continued to attack the Punjab bowlers.Patel continued his aggression, his innings comprising five fours and three sixes, as Mumbai reached 100 in the 11th over.Leg-spinner Karanveer Singh (1/30) put the brakes on the rampaging Mumbai innings as Patel offered a catch to Murali Vijay. At 111/1, Sharma joined Simmons and played a perfect foil to the West Indian. Rohit scored 26 in 20 deliveries before perishing to Johnson, who conceded 41 runs in his quota of four overs. After putting his team in command, Simmons lost his wicket to right-arm medium pacer Anureet Singh. - Manohar
