NDA's Presidential Candidate Ram Nath Kovind Files His Nomination Papers:- The Presidential candidate of NDA Ram Nath Kovind filed his nomination in New Delhi today, in the presence of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, and Chief Ministers and party leaders of NDA-ruled states. Also present during the filing of nominations were BJP President Amit Shah and party veterans LK Advani and Murli Manohar Joshi. Except Manohar Parrikar of Goa and Mehbooba Mufti of Jammu and Kashmir, all the chief ministers of BJP-ruled states and its allies. Among those, who were present was Telangana chief minister K. Chandrashekar Rao and Tamil Nadu chief minister Edappadi K Palaniswami. Apart from the NDA constituents, the regional parties such as the AIADMK, BJD, TRS and JD (U) have announced their support of the Dalit leader, making his win an almost foregone conclusion. The NDA constituents comprise over 48.6% of votes in the electoral college that will elect the next president. A BJP source said the Dalit leader is guaranteed to get more than 61% of the votes and the final tally depends on how some still undecided regional parties vote. Yesterday, a group of Opposition parties announced that Speaker Meira Kumar, also a Dalit leader, would be fielded against Kovind. The Presidential Election is scheduled for July 17, while the counting of votes will take place on July 20. On July 24, the term of the President Mr. Pranab Mukherjee will end. Once elected, Kovind will become the second Dalit to occupy the highest constitutional office. K R Narayanan was the first Dalit Leader, who was in the Rashtrapati Bhavan in 1997-2002. After the NDA came to power in May 2014, Kovind (71) was made the Bihar Governor in 2015. His nomination by the BJP is now being seen as a "political masterstroke". Kovind enjoys a clean reputation and has steered clear of any controversy in his over 26-year-old political career. Reddy staged a dharna three days ago, which was, however, disrupted by the Police. About 50 YSRCP leaders were arrested by the police who imposed section 144 section in the area. The dumping yard, which is 11km from Tirupati is causing serious pollution and health hazards to the people in villages near the dumping yard. Every day, around 170 trips with 70 trucks and tractors corporation authorities has been shifting the garbage to Ramapuram dumping yard. HTC Global Services Aims To Clock USD 1 Billion Revenue By 2020:- US-based IT service provider HTC Global Services is looking to scale up its business and aim to clock USD1 billion revenue by 2020. Founded by Madhava Reddy, HTC has operations in India, Singapore, Malaysia, Australia and Middle East. Recently, the USD 320 million company has acquired, a global technology consulting services and outsourcing company, the Ciber Incorporation, which serves companies in the automotive, telecom and entertainment. The combined strength of the company along with Ciber will help in offering customers a comprehensive set of services across a range of industry sectors, believes HTC. Ciber was acquired by HTC for over a USD100 million. Madhava Reddy told a leading news channel that, “The acquisition of Ciber will help HTC in increasing its footprint in other parts of the US. Within the US, Ciber operates 15 offices, employing 2,200 personnel and a clientele of over 100 customers including the automotive major Ford. The company, post the acquisition, is looking at a turnover of USD600 million, which in the next three years, will take up to the USD 1 billion mark.” The company primarily caters to insurance, education, government, finance and healthcare. HTC’s previous acquisition of CareTech three years back has given the company an edge into the healthcare sector. Around USD 100 million were spent on this acquisition by the HTC. When asked if the company is exploring more acquisitions in the future, Madhava Reddy said, “We will focus on organic growth now. We have a sizeable business pipeline in our current geographic markets and industry verticals and we will consolidate our operations further.” The company has four facilities in Chennai and one in Hyderabad and small operations in Delhi and Mumbai. It has 11,000 employees worldwide, of which India accounts for about 5,500, the US for about 5,000 and the rest of the world accounted for the remaining 500. “We will expand our workforce by another 5,000 in next three years. And we will focus on our core strengths. We have created a valuable customer base for ourselves whom we partner in their broader IT strategy. We have nurtured our leadership teams. Golla Rajamma of Khilla Ghanpur boiled the tomatoes and other ingredients and took a grinding stone to make it into a paste. Rajamma did not notice that there was a snake lying in the hollow bottom of the stone. She smashed the snake along with the tomatoes in it and made chutney. The chutney in the breakfast was taken by Rajamma along with her daughter Krishnaveni and younger son. The family then took the chutney to the elder son Sai, who was in the field. And that is when, Sai while eating, noticed the tail of the snake and when he examined it clearly, he found bits of snake in it. Isro's Indian Rocket Lifts Off Cartosat, 30 Passenger Satellites Succesfully From Sriharikota:- The National Space Agency, the Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO)'s Indian Rocket "Polar Satellite Launch Vehicle (PSLV-C38)" has successfully launched India's Earth Observation Satellite "Cartosat" along with 30 co-passenger satellites from Sriharikota in Andhra Pradesh. After ISRO launched 104 satellites on board PSLV C-37 on Febraury 15 this year, the launch marks the second highest number of payloads in a single flight. Of the 30 satellites that have been launched, 29 are foreign and one is Indian. At around 9:29 am, the PSLV rocket standing 44.4 metre tall and weighing 320 tons tore into the morning skies with a growl breaking free of the earth's gravitational pull. The weight of the 31 satellites was around 955kg. The rocket's main cargo is India's Cartosat-2 series weighing around 712 kg for earth observation. This satellite is similar to the earlier Cartosat-2 series satellites. The co-passenger satellites include 29 nano satellites weighing 243 kg and are from 14 countries - Austria, Belgium, Britain, Chile, Czech Republic, Finland, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, Latvia, Lithuania, Slovakia, and the US - as well as one Indian nano satellite, NIUSAT. The images sent by the Cartosat satellite would be useful for cartographic, urban, rural, coastal land use, utility management like road network monitoring, water distribution, creation of land use maps, change detection to bring out geographical and man-made features and various other land information systems and geographical information system applications. The Indian Nano Satellite weighing about 15 kg "NIUSAT" belonging to Nooral Islam University, Tamil Nadu, is one among the 30 co-passenger satellites. The multi-spectral imagery for agricultural crop monitoring and disaster management support applications would be provided by the NIUSAT satellite. SUPRAJA
