AIADMK Leader TTV Dinakaran Arrested By Delhi Police April 26, 2017 10:45

The Delhi police have arrested the All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazagham (AIADMK) leader, yesterday night, for allegedly attempting to bribe an Election Commission (EC) official to get the undivided AIADMK “two leaves” symbol for his faction. The AIADMK leader reached the Crime Branch Inter State Cell office in Chanakyapuri at 5 PM. After being questioned for close to six hours, he was arrested, said Joint Commissioner of Police (crime), Praveer Ranjan. The Joint Commissioner said, apart from Dinakaran, his long time friend Mallikarjuna was also arrested for allegedly facilitating the deal between Dinakaran and the middle man in the EC bribery case, Sukesh Chandrasekar, after being interrogated for the second day, on the run. Mallikarjuna had been accompanying the AIADMK leader everywhere, ever since the arrest of the middleman. Chandrasekar was arrested on April 16, for allegedly striking a deal of Rs 50 crore to help the AIADMK (Amma) faction keep the poll symbol. All the three convicts will be questioned together to get information about the money trail, details of the deal and whether more people were involved in it. Dinakaran’s Personal Assistant, Janardhana has agreed to be a witness in the case, says sources. Yesterday, Dinakaran had admitted to meeting Chandrasekhar, assuming he was a high court judge. The AIADMK leader, however, denied the paid money to the middleman, for getting the party’s poll symbol. Earlier, he maintained that he never met him. The Delhi police produced Chandrasekar before a special court, which extended his custody till April 28. The court was told that Chandrasekar had been paid the money through hawala channels. An unknown person, by the name, Shah Faisal said that he had collected a parcel from Chennai and gave it to Chandrasekar, who had posed to be a member of Parliament. The police suspect the parcel to contain a huge Rs 10 crore. About three hawala operators will also be questioned in connection with the case, said the Delhi police. Dinakaran and his friend will be produced before a city court tomorrow, says reports. Amid moves to merge rival factions led by Tamil Nadu Chief Minister EK Palaniswami and his predecessor O Panneerselvam (OPS), Dinakaran and AIADMK chief V.K. Sasikala were sidelined from the party. Recently, a powerful section of the ruling AIADMK (Amma) revolted against the Sasikala-Dhinakaran leadership. The development came after the OPS camp demanded removal of Sasikala and Dinakaran, as a condition for merger talks. AP CM Blames Collectors, SPs For Chittoor Accident April 26, 2017 10:35

The shocking accident of Yerpedu in which atleast 15 persons were killed and several others injured had given an opportunity for the Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister, N. Chandrababu Naidu to blame the officials of the district. The ghastly incident occurred when a truck lost control, ploughed through a group of people in front of a police station, hit an electric pole uprooting it, and rammed a roadside shop at Yerpedu, 25 km from Tirupati on the Srikalahasti highway on last friday. As the pole came down, live wires snapped and fell on parked two-wheelers, which went up in flames leading to electrocution. Some bystanders who rushed to help the victims also suffered electrocution, while some were injured by the raging flames. The situation remained chaotic for over 10 minutes as nobody understood whether it was an accident, fire or electrocution. Naidu said the Yerpedu incident exposes the failures of the police and revenue officials and the district Collectors and SPs are to be held responsible for the whole accident. The ill-fated truck driver was found in a drunken state, and the CM wondered how the officials have allowed him to drive the vehicle. Naidu blamed the officials of the Chittoor administration for not conducting regular checks on the vehicles and traffic management. Further, the AP CM directed the district Collectors and the SPs to conduct frequent reviews on the road safety in their respective districts and also have checks on road for drunken drive and other violations. There should be a regular check on vehicles thoroughly for permits, licenses, fitness and the status of the drivers to prevent such accidents. The officials of the revenue, police and transport departments should have coordination in preventing accidents on the roads, added the AP CM. Additionally, the CM also wanted the district administrations to keep a regular and through check on the sand mining and transportation, to avoid illegal sand quarrying and smuggling. Naidu strictly warned the officials to prevent such illegal activity. Naidu claimed that he had already suspended the membership of two TDP leaders for their alleged involvement in illegal sand mining in Chittoor district, and stated that he would not hesitate to take action against anyone. Mega Star To Quit Politics; Continue Acting? April 25, 2017 17:16

Going by the prevailing conditions, looks like Megastar Chiranjeevi wants to bid adieu to politics and seriously pursue his career as an actor. The super success of his recent film, Khaidi No.150, has given a new boost to the actor. After the success of the film, the actor is looking elated and is totally enjoying the success. It also seems that Chiru has distanced himself from the political works and has not made any political statements in the recent times. Additionally, when music director, MM Keeravani during the actor’s show, Meelo Evaru Koteeswarudu, asked about his entry into cinemas, Chiru responded quite positively and said “May be. If you strongly wish for it, may be destiny too happen as per your wish.” With the megastar himself responding positively on quitting politics, and followed by his son Ram Charan’s statement to support his uncle and Power Star, Pawan Kalyan, it socially looks like, Chiru is considering to quit politics. Since he has already given up his Praja Rajyam Party (PRP) and joined Congress that is routed in AP totally, Chiru may not be interested to join any political party at this juncture and looks like he is jumping so many political parties. The mega power star, Charan already has made an announcement about Chiru’s 151st movie with Surender Reddy, followed by Chiru’s 152 with Boyapati Sreenu. This looks like Chiru's plate is full with films and he is slowly quitting politics. Probably, Chiru wants to follow Amitab Bachchan and continue just in films.
