BRS to be renamed back as TRS April 10, 2024 16:22

BRS to be renamed back as TRS:- It seemed inevitable that after suffering a devastating defeat in the 2023 assembly election, BRS would be renamed TRS. The prevailing sentiment was that Telangana natives should not possess the BRS name change. Although this development has been widely discussed in recent weeks, both KCR and KTR have remained silent on the matter until now. However, putting an end to the anticipation today, KTR all but confirmed that BRS would revert back to being called TRS. This revelation occurred when he was asked about the significant number of BRS leaders defecting to the Congress. In response to this inquiry, KTR stated, "Our party has endured for 24 years, through both good times and bad. TRS-BRS will remain loyal to the people of Telangana until the very end." KTR deliberately mentioned the name TRS while the media had been referring to the party as BRS. Many view this as an official indication from KTR that BRS will once again be known as TRS, as had been speculated. This upcoming Lok Sabha election may be the final instance in which the party is referred to as BRS during electoral battles, as the party's name will subsequently revert back to TRS.

Kavitha's Bail Plea Rejected by Delhi Court April 08, 2024 19:35

On April 8, the Delhi Rouse Avenue Court rejected BRS leader K Kavitha's request for interim bail in the money-laundering case related to the abolished Delhi excise policy. Previously, Kavitha had asked the court to overturn its decision allowing the CBI to question her in Tihar jail. Her lawyer, Advocate Nitesh Rana, claimed that the CBI had violated the proper legal process by seeking permission to interrogate her without her knowledge. Rana expressed concerns that the CBI may have concealed certain facts to obtain a favorable court order. As the CBI investigates the corruption aspect of the excise policy scandal, Rana requested that the court suspend its previous order until Kavitha's position could be heard. The next hearing was scheduled for April 10, as the CBI needed time to respond to Kavitha's plea. However, Judge Kaveri Baweja did not grant any temporary relief to Kavitha in the ED and CBI cases. ED arrested K Kavitha, daughter of former Telangana chief minister K Chandrashekar Rao, in Hyderabad on charges of money laundering. She was then taken into judicial custody for 14 days. Kavitha's bail plea was submitted to the court on April 4, requesting an extension due to her son's exams. She claimed that her son required her "moral and emotional support". Kavitha is believed to be a prominent member of the alleged "South Group", accused of providing kickbacks of ₹100 crore to the ruling AAP in exchange for a significant portion of liquor licenses in Delhi.

Mark Zuckerberg Becomes Richer Than Elon Musk April 06, 2024 19:42

Mark Zuckerberg Becomes Richer Than Elon Musk:- In a significant shift, Mark Zuckerberg surpassed Elon Musk on Friday to claim the third spot on the list of the world's wealthiest individuals. This marks the first time since 2020 that these rival billionaires have occupied these particular positions. Musk, who held the top spot on the Bloomberg Billionaires Index until recently, dropped to fourth place after reports emerged that Tesla Inc. had scrapped plans for a more affordable vehicle, resulting in a decline in the company's shares (Musk has denied these reports). Additionally, Tesla's vehicle deliveries experienced a year-over-year decrease in the first quarter of this year, the first decline since the early days of the Covid pandemic. While Musk's wealth has diminished by $48.4 billion in 2021, Zuckerberg's fortune has seen a significant increase of $58.9 billion as Meta Platforms Inc. reaches new heights, including a record-breaking day on Friday. This achievement marks Zuckerberg's return to the top three on Bloomberg's ranking of the wealthiest individuals, a position he last held on November 16, 2020, when his net worth was $105.6 billion compared to Musk's $102.1 billion. Presently, Musk's net worth stands at $180.6 billion, while Zuckerberg's fortune sits at $186.9 billion. Big technology companies, especially those involved in artificial intelligence, have been experiencing different levels of success. For instance, Tesla's shares have dropped by 34% this year, making it the worst performer in the S&P 500 Index. This decline can be attributed to various factors such as a global decrease in demand for electric vehicles, increased competition in China, and production challenges in Germany. On the other hand, Meta has seen a significant increase in value, with a surge of 49% driven by strong quarterly earnings and excitement surrounding their AI initiatives. Meta currently ranks as the fifth-best performer on the S&P 500. Aside from their financial standings, Tesla's Elon Musk and Meta's Mark Zuckerberg have a rivalry that goes beyond their wealth. Their public feud escalated when Meta launched Threads, a social media platform that directly competes with Musk's X. Last year, the two even exchanged insults about potentially engaging in a cage fight. Recently, Musk, who is 52 years old, brought up the idea again, challenging the 39-year-old Zuckerberg to a fight "anywhere, anytime." Furthermore, Musk's net worth may face additional setbacks after a Delaware judge invalidated his $55 billion Tesla pay package. The Bloomberg Billionaires Index currently includes the options from that pay package, which are among Musk's largest assets, when calculating his wealth.

YS Sunitha's sensational comments on Avinash Reddy:- During a press conference in Hyderabad, Suneetha Reddy, the daughter of YS Vivekananda Reddy, expressed her doubts about receiving justice when those in power are the ones responsible for the murder. She criticized society for failing to hold the culprits accountable, allowing them to freely roam around. Suneetha mentioned that despite her education, wealth, and knowledge, she has been unable to attain the justice she seeks. She clarified that her fight is not for politics, but for justice. Suneetha also discussed the dynamics within her family and their involvement in politics. She explained that after the passing of her father and uncle, there were discussions about who would succeed them in their respective political positions. Suneetha stated that her father did not support the nomination of YS Bhaskar Reddy and instead proposed either Vijayamma or Sharmila for the ticket. She highlighted the tension between Jagan and her father when Jagan was appointed as the minister by the Congress party. However, when Jagan and Vijayamma left Congress, her father decided to join them in the YSR Congress Party. Suneetha emphasized the significant role played by YS Sharmila in leading the YCP during Jagan's imprisonment. She acknowledged Sharmila's contributions to the victories of various MPs and MLAs in by-elections. According to Suneetha, in 2014, Jagan initially planned to give the Kadapa MP ticket to Sharmila. However, when he saw that Sharmila was receiving more attention, he ignored her. Suneetha claimed that Viveka objected when Jagan decided to offer the Kadapa ticket to Avinash Reddy. She also accused Avinash's family of betraying Viveka, which resulted in her losing the MLC elections. Initially, Suneetha did not believe that her family members were responsible for her father's murder, but she now admits that she made a mistake by trusting them. (Video Source: ETV Andhra Pradesh)

One more jolt for Kalvakuntla Kavitha in Tihar Jail April 05, 2024 20:54

One more jolt for Kalvakuntla Kavitha in Tihar Jail:- In Tihar jail, a Delhi Court has granted permission to the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) to question K Kavitha, a leader of the BRS, who was arrested in connection with a case involving the excise policy. Kavitha, the daughter of former Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao, was apprehended by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) on March 15 as part of a money laundering investigation related to an alleged excise policy scam. Kaveri Baweja, the Special Judge for ED and CBI cases, has allowed the agency to interrogate Kavitha. This decision was made in response to a plea submitted by the CBI, in which they sought authorization to question Kavitha while she is in judicial custody. On a previous occasion, Kavitha had requested the court to grant her interim bail due to her 16-year-old son's exams, stating that he needed her "moral and emotional support". Kavitha has been accused of being a prominent member of the "South Group", which supposedly provided kickbacks of Rs 100 crore to the ruling AAP in Delhi, in exchange for a significant portion of liquor licenses in the national capital. She was placed in 14-day judicial custody on Tuesday, March 28. The 2021-22 policy, which was later canceled, emerged from a report given by Delhi Chief Secretary Naresh Kumar to Lieutenant Governor Vinai Kumar Saxena in July 2022. The report pointed out alleged procedural shortcomings in the policy's development. It stated that decisions made by AAP leader Manish Sisodia as Excise Minister were arbitrary and one-sided, leading to financial losses of over Rs 580 crore to the treasury. Ukraine stages major attack on Russian Airbase April 05, 2024 20:43

Ukraine stages major attack on Russian Airbase:- According to a source from Kyiv intelligence, Ukraine launched a joint operation with the SBU security service and military to target Russia's Morozovsk military air base in the Rostov region. The source claimed that six Russian warplanes were destroyed in the attack, while eight others sustained damage. However, Reuters was unable to independently confirm this information. The source did not provide details on the method of attack. On the other hand, Russia's RIA news agency reported that Russian air defenses had successfully taken down 53 Ukrainian drones overnight, mostly in the Rostov region. The Morozovsk air base is known for its use by Russian tactical bombers, such as the Sukhoi Su-24 and Su-24M, which are utilized by Moscow's air force to launch guided bomb strikes against Ukrainian military forces and frontline towns and cities. This operation is described as significant. In recent weeks, Ukraine has intensified its drone attacks on targets in Russia, particularly focusing on oil refineries in an attempt to diminish Russian oil revenue. Earlier this year, a senior government official revealed to Reuters that Ukraine plans to manufacture thousands of long-range drones by 2024 as part of its defense program priority in the ongoing conflict with Russia. With limited entry to weapons from Western allies, Kyiv has prioritized the advancement of long-range unmanned vehicles to retaliate against Russia. The latter has employed a vast array of missiles and drones to bombard Ukraine.
