Heavy weight of school bags can lead to back bone problems August 03, 2015 12:50

According to a study performed by the health experts it was proved that more than 60 percent of schoolchildren with heavy back packs have been found suffering from back bone and muscle problems. "Not just this, carrying backpacks over one shoulder is a wrong practise, as it makes muscles strain. The spine leans to the opposite side, stressing the middle back, ribs, and lower back more on one side than the other and this muscle imbalance can cause muscle strain, muscle spasm, and back pain," said Satnam Singh Chhabra, director, Neuro Spine Department at Sir Ganga Ram Hospital. Many parents worry about the wrong postures of their children and complain about them to the doctors. Though doctors can’t help about the heavy weights they suggest the parents to encourage their off springs to bear the weight equally with both the shoulders. They also suggest that every child should attend the physical education period to be flexible and stay fit."Apart from taking care of their nutrition like proteins, vitamin D, calcium, etc, we suggest children should participate in physical activity and should be encouraged to play outdoor games as this will help them strengthen their muscles and increase their stamina too."By Lizitha

Special status rejected for Bihar, not AP - Nirmala Seetharaman August 03, 2015 12:12

Central Minister Nirmala Seetharaman made sensational comments on AP special status issue, saying that, the special status is rejected for Bihar, but not for AP. It is known that recently, the Union Minister of Planning and Defense, Indrajit Singh declared that, no special status would be given to any Indian state.  After that declaration, the issue went viral across the country, especially in Andhra Pradesh. Regarding the special status issue, several AP MPs opined that, they are ready to protest against central government, until the special status to AP is declared.JC Diwakar Reddy comments on special status went more viral, as he clearly declared that, special status to AP, is a dream, that can never be achieved and also hinted that even AP CM Naidu is aware of it.    Nirmala raises new hopes on special status to AP Speaking on the special status issue, Nirmala said, “Indrajit Singh comments on special status are applicable to Bihar, but not AP. The centre makes all the favour to AP soon.” In fact, on a tour to Vijayawada in the past, Nirmala already gave a positive hope to AP special status.  AP Special status: Nirmala is trying to mislead AP people? In spite of the centre’s clear rejection of AP special status issue publicly, how come there be a separate treatment to AP? If so, will the other states like Bihar, be calm about it? Knowing that, the centre faces severe consequences from other states, if AP is declared special status, how can it move positive only to AP state? So, is Nirmala trying to mislead the public? If so she misleads, will it continue till 2019 elections and then declare special status after re-winning in the elections? Time should answer all these questions. Let us see, what the centre is planning for AP.By Phani

Interest rates may be unchanged August 03, 2015 11:54

The chances of a rate revision of the Reserve Bank of India are very remote. The Export-Import Bank of India states that, the rising trend in inflation seen over the last two months and the rainfall deficits is expected to weigh over the considerations of a weak economic performance."Consequently, policy rate cut by the RBI in its third bimonthly policy appears bleak. The RBI is likely to maintain status quo on rates in its bimonthly policy meet on August 4," it said."Ind-Ra expects the policy stance to reflect RBI's continued intention to anchor both inflation and inflationary expectations. This has become even more important for RBI after its agreement with the government to follow a framework of inflation targeting," India Ratings and Research said.Consumer price-index (CPI), or retail inflation has risen to an eight-month high of 5.4 per cent in the month of June.  The CPI-urban for the month of June has inched higher to 4.55 per cent, the CPI-rural jumped to 6.07 per cent from 5.52 per cent in May. In the previous review in the month of June, RBI has cut the repo rate, at which it lends short-term to commercial banks, from 7.5 per cent to 7.25, but left other parameters like the cash reserve ratio (CRR) and the statutory liquidity ratio (SLR), unchanged at 4 per cent and 21.5 per cent, respectively. RBI Governor Raghuram Rajan has said that the plans for lower food output is needed to be in place, global financial markets were volatile, factory output was recovering unevenly, the services sector was emitting mixed signals, fuel inflation was up, exports were down and liquidity had improved."We believe that a government-elected panel undermines the RBI's independence. Moving to the new model would severely dent the RBI's competency. Credibility would be lower, politics would drive decisions, and transparency would be reduced," American research firm Moody's Analytics said."Overall, we believe that tampering with the central bank's independence would make it difficult to anchor inflation expectations. This would weigh on India's economic prospects, particularly financial market stability," said the Moody's report. "But given the criticism of the draft bill, it is unlikely to pass parliament," it added."The RBI is likely to maintain its stance that the evolving inflation outlook needs to be monitored closely," said Radhika Rao, economist at DBS in Singapore."Despite policy reforms to iron out food supply bottlenecks, the impact is yet to be felt on the streets. This, coupled with over-reliance on rain-fed irrigation, will continue to provide food price shocks," said Debopam Chaudhuri, chief economist at ZyFin Research.“It is something that would gladden the hearts of all connected with real estate. My heart says the RBI Governor should do so, but my mind doesn’t share the enthusiasm. If the RBI cuts rates, logically it should boost investments and growth,” said Niranjan Hiranandani, MD, Hiranandani Constructions. “Concerns related to key inflation risks highlighted by the RBI during its June 2015 policy review have ebbed in recent weeks, with smaller than feared monsoon deficit, moderation in crude oil prices and relatively stable currency,” said Naresh Takkar, group CEO and MD, ICRA.By Premji

Srimanthudu advance booking bangs August 03, 2015 10:43

As Srimanthudu is nearing its release, the advance booking was opened yesterday. Within a few hours of opening, a phenomenal response was observed from Mahesh fans and as of now, the tickets for the first weekend shows are completed. The advance booking is still going on, in all the major theaters and also through online booking, for the week days too.   After Baahubali, Srimanthudu is the next big movie, where the Telugu audience is waiting for. Srimanthudu is getting never before response, comparing to any other Mahesh film in the past. The reason behind this is, Srimanthudu trailer has exposed the mass content in the film, which is generally observed in out and out mass heroes’ films. Mass in a class style - Srimanthudu Mirchi is the film which elevated the mass levels in a high range, without losing the essence of classy character in hero. It is a difficult task to convince the audience in this genre, but Koratala Siva made it perfectly and scored a big hit through Mirchi. Now the same flavor can be felt in Srimanthudu trailer, where Mahesh is seen in class attire, uttering class dialogues, while the environment around him is utter mass. Hope this Mirchi fame director’s second movie would be spicier than the first movie.   By Phani

Porn sites are blocked in India August 03, 2015 09:40

The telecom operators and internet service providers (ISPs) are ordered by the central government to block 857 porn sites and are so blocked now.In the past, the Supreme Court said that there would be no blocking on porn sites, as it would obstruct the citizen's rights, but now, referring to this, the users said that the officials blocked several sites which did not contain pornographic content. They are just taking child porn into consideration and blocking all the adult websites, which is literally being an obstacle for the citizens rights.    Responding to this, the government officials said that, denial of access of Department of Telecom (DoT) was temporary, insisting that it was a prelude to the creation of a regular regulatory oversight. SC’s observations prompted centre to block 857 porn sites “After the home ministry's failure in blocking child pornography, Supreme Court issued the directives and so we implemented it, there are no directives to block the privacy of the citizens” the government sources said. Blocking all porn sites in step by step procedure Though the officials said to block all the porn sites, the Telecom company executives said that, “the complete blocking of all porn sites, will be done in a few days, as the blocking of porn sites can be done, one by one.”   Should be made available to browse porn sites in bedrooms, but not in cyber cafes - DoT  The DoT officials said that, it is illegal to obstruct the citizens' rights by not allowing to them to watch porn in house. The government should at least allow the public to browse porn sites in house and block in the public places like cyber cafes etc. SC did not say to ban the porn sites A few of the critics seriously said that, "a bench headed by Chief Justice H L Dattu had in fact pointed to the freedom enjoyed by individuals, but not by the Supreme Court entirely. What would the court answer if any citizen appears in the court and ask that how can they block his rights of watching porn in his bedroom?"  Watching porn in public places will be embarrassing to the people around. So it would be better if the porn is seriously banned in public places. But no such ban can be imposed, while citizen browse the porn sites in their bedroom, as there might be many private reasons, they browse those for.By Phani
