Exclusive: No way to save small cinema! July 29, 2015 18:44

A film that runs for 100 days was considered a hit, 175 days a blockbuster and one year as an epic. What is that strategy, which changed this trend in the film industry now? let us get into detail.Firstly, the film budget is increasing day by day. The producers are coming forward to invest crores on star heroes, as per the market. So they are not able to risk, waiting for long, to bring back the investment, along with the profits. It is for, this reason, the producers are releasing the films in number of theaters on the first day itself, and are trying to bring back all the investment and profits, so that though the film does not get a positive talk later, the producers might have already be on the safe side, recovering the investment from the opening day collections itself.   This logic works out in big star studded films, but what about small films? They cannot release their films in number of theaters, like big ones and so are failing in recovering the investments, if the film does not secure a success. Big cinema is killing the small cinema  In fact, this might be the reason of why the producers are avoiding small films and opting only big films. Fantastic actors like Srikanth, Jagapathi Babu, who are identified for family entertainers, are not able to look forward to do them, as no producer is daring to invest on such entertainers. If though, any such films are being made, those films will be thrown out of the theaters, if other big movies get released. Where is the fault? Where is the way to save a small cinema? An issue which has to be thought upon, for sure.   By Phani

No mercy, hang Yakub, Victims of 1993 Mumbai blasts July 29, 2015 18:06

Family members of some of the victims of 1993 Mumbai blasts have demanded that Yakub Memon is to be hanged and submitted a mass petition to Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis in this regard. “Yakub should be hanged,” Tushar Deshmukh, who lost his mother in the blasts, said in the memorandum. “The families have suffered. We demand that the death sentence be carried out,” Deshmukh said."I have signatures of 1,600 people given in just two hours who all want Yakub to be hanged," said Tushar Deshmukh. A three-judge Supreme Court bench on Wednesday has rejected the petition of Yakub Abdul Razak Memon, the sole death row convict in the 1993 Mumbai blasts case. Maharashtra Governor CV Rao has also rejected his mercy plea. Yakub's brother Tiger Memon, the main accused along with underworld don Dawood Ibrahim, has been absconding since 1993. Dismissing Memon's curative petition, the apex court said there was no procedural lapse in the formation of the curative bench which had earlier this month rejected his appeal. Memon had argued that the death warrant against him was issued even before the Supreme Court could hear his curative petition. A group of eminent citizens, including politicians, jurists and retired judges had asked the President to grant mercy to Yakub, arguing that in comparison, "the other 10 planted the bombs and played a much more critical and direct role."There are some so called secularists, self proclaimed intelligentsia, celebrities and few of the film personalities who cannot see the victims of the 1993 Mumbai blasts, yet fight for the mercy of the man who has colluded with the absconding culprits in the very terror act. These shameless, unscrupulous and thankless personalities come together to defend the heartless terrorists, but does not raise a single word to condemn the rights of the innocent victims and their family. It is a shame for the people of India have these heartless persons amidst the society.Yakub Memon a chartered accountant by profession is to be hanged at a jail in Nagpur at 7 am on Thursday on his 54th birthday for his role in the deadly terror attack in which 257 people were killed at various landmarks across Mumbai.   (Video Source: ABP News)By Premji

Infant’s social skills linked to learning foreign language July 29, 2015 14:47

A new study performed by the Researchers at the Institute for Learning & Brain Sciences (I-LABS) at the University of Washington have revealed that Infant’s social skills play a key role in helping them learn a foreign language. The researchers proved that early social behaviour called gaze shifting show a boost in a brain response that indicates language learning in kids. For the study, babies from English speaking households attended foreign language tutoring sessions. Over four weeks, the 17 infants interacted with a tutor during 12 sessions of 25 minutes each. The tutors read books and talked and played with toys while speaking in Spanish. The more gaze shifting the babies participated in during their tutoring sessions, the greater their brain responses were to the Spanish language sounds. "Our findings show that young babies social engagement contributes to their own language learning - they're not just passive listeners of language," said co-author Rechele Brooks, assistant professor at I-LABS. The study was published in the journal Developmental Neuropsychology.By Lizitha
