GST Bill in Lok Sabha, will it get passed April 25, 2015 17:52

Finance Minister Arun Jaitley tabled the Goods and Services Tax Bill in the Lok Sabha for consideration, braving a prolonged wrangling with the Opposition over procedure. Jaitley said that the bill had been already introduced in Lok Sabha on December 19, 2014 and suggested that the house take it up. Almost the entire Opposition raised technical objections and insisted that the bill be referred to the standing committee. GST is a Constitution amendment bill that requires two-thirds support in both the Houses. The government has exuded confidence in its ability to push the bill through in both Houses by next week despite the majority of Opposition parties staging a walkout in the Lok Sabha. Jaitley has exhorted all sections of the House to jointly back the bill by citing how GST could offer a 'win-win' situation for the states in earning more revenues and by showcasing the legislature "as the best example of co-operative federalism on display," Congress chief Sonia Gandhi was seen actively encouraging party members to press for referring the bill to the standing committee, a demand that was backed by most Opposition parties including government-friendly parties AIADMK and BJD. Congress spokesperson Abhishek Singhvi said his party is not against GST, "which is our baby" but warned the Centre of "consequences" it could face (in the Rajya Sabha) if the bill is pushed without referring to the standing committee.Exercising petty politics over the nation, Congress leaders are debating whether they should eventually let the bill sail through, citing the "party's principled support to the bill" or whether it should hold back the legislation for a while as it did with the insurance bill.Jaitley is in back-room negotiations with chief ministers such as Mamata Banerjee, J Jayalaithaa, Navin Patnaik and leaders such as Sharad Pawar and some Janata Parivar parties to mop up support. GST needs to be ratified by at least half the number of states too to become a law. GST bill is considered to be beneficial to the states and the people of the country.By Premji

Son of Satyamurthy has released in Kerala on Saturday and the film was widely released through out the state. Kerala is the state where Allu Arjun has very huge following. Most of his films which are just an average here managed to be super hits over there and also in terms of collections too, the state plays a major role for all the Bunny movies. In Telugu it was released few days back and managed to get good collections out of the craze of Bunny and Trivikram. But it is the script and screenplay that actually makes any film go forward. According to the critics report, the film lacks in direction and the screenplay and that was the main reason for the downfall of the movie. But even then, the movie could attract huge audience at the Kerala theatres. All the theatres over there were crowded with Bunny's fans. The other main reason for this range of craze is, Malayalam superstar Upendra has done a good role in the film and that was also considered as a major reason for the packed houses in all the theatres of Kerala.     By Phani

Jersey cows milk turns children to crime April 25, 2015 16:21

Drinking a cow's milk is healthier to all age groups but make sure that the cow is an Indian. This is not my   suggestion. The RSS group leader Shankar Lal said  that the move would improve the condition of the animals, which often roam the streets and eat plastic waste, and also provide milk and medicines. It would also teach children the importance of the animal in sustaining life.So it better to prefer only the breed of India and not Jersey cows if they strongly prefer their children  not to turn to crime. Speaking further, the leader said that drinking Indian breed mink increases the consumers productivity and never produce any evil thoughts. On the other side, the Jersey cow, has "devil in the milk, poisonous particles", he said.First of all, Jersey is not at all a cow  but "some kind of an animal which makes you think impure thoughts and do wrong deeds [which] results in increase in crimes", he added.Jersey cows were actually brought to India during the British Raj to improve the quality of the milk by cross feeding with the Indian varieties. Many of the studies proved that milk of the cow has been by a scavenger diet of plastic bags and paper.By Phani

There are few situations where people have to agree your words but you are unaware of how to convince them. In those times, just try to follow these steps.Firstly, this is not a new tip, because you might have already done this in your school days. Lets get   into the details.Generally in the school days, If there is an oral test, whenever we are unaware of an answer to the question, we generally try to confuse the teacher by putting the answer in a different way or adding some intellectual words and some or the other way make the teacher totally confused. In the same way, when you are required to convince the people, but unable to do it, then try to confuse them of what you are saying by dragging the topic in a new version and make sure that he/she is also traveling with your words. Finally make them come to a conclusion that your answer was done. By Phani

BSNL's officials to hold regular interactions with members of Parliament April 25, 2015 16:05

BSNL's officials will hold regular interactions with members of Parliament, apprising them of the company's performance and receive regular updates on the telecom company's performance from various parts of the country. Telecom minister Ravi Shankar Prasad, who presided over the first such meeting, has undertaken the initiative. "Telecom Ministry will hold such meetings of all the interested parties to expedite the process of improving the quality and reach of telecom signal from BSNL," a release issued by the telecom ministry said. MPs from Rajasthan, Himachal Pradesh and North Eastern States were present in the first meeting. There will be five such meetings to be held, enabling all MPs to raise issues directly with concerned officials.MPs had offered land in their respective constituencies for erecting towers and further offered funds from MPLAD scheme for this purpose. Some MPs complained that in border areas telecom local population owing to either weak or lack of BSNL's network was using signals from across the border. They suggested that meeting of representatives from Defense ministry and Home ministry should be called to address this problem. Telecom minister Ravi Shankar Prasad has directed the telecom department to explore the possibility of setting up a dedicated cell in BSNL to monitor the effectiveness of its network in border areas and also in areas severely affected by extremism. The initiative by the Telecom department is in the right step to face the competition and to provide service upto the satisfaction of the customers. BSNL should also take necessary steps to ensure the attitude of their employees and make them more customer-friendly. The delay in response to customer requirements and lack of user friendly packages are the root cause of the state run telecom company to lose customers. The members of Parliament should utilize the opportunity to convey the customer requirements to the department and ensure those requirements are implemented for the benefit of the customers. Turmeric fights against oral and cervical cancers April 25, 2015 15:49

Turmeric is one of the wonderful ingredient that has many beneficial values. It is not only used for its amazing flavour, but used mainly for its various health benefits. Scientists now have found one more reason to include turmeric in your diet. They claim that it can also fight oral cancer caused by a virus. It was stated that the cancer fighting property of turmeric is mainly due to its key ingredient called ‘Curcumin’. It is an anti-oxidant that has a quelling effect on the activity of human papillomavirus (HPV).The Indian-origin scientist, Alok Mishra of the Emory University, Atlanta, US, explained that turmeric has established antiviral and anti-cancer properties, and according to his findings it is good for oral health too.Dr Mishra’s research group first noted the effect of curcumin on HPV and cervical cancer cells in 2005. The antioxidant slowed the expression of HPV, suggesting that curcumin could control the extent of HPV infection.“Since HPV-related oral cancer cases are on the rise, we tested the same hypothesis on oral cancer,” Dr Mishra says. The new findings suggests that curcumin turns down the expression of HPV in infected oral cancer cells by down regulating the levels of cellular transcription factors AP-1 and NF-kB.The research has been published in the journal ecancermedicalscience.By Lizitha

“South's Ultimate Superstar” is yet another prestigious title considered by all the cinema lovers of the South. This title is generally given based on the online medium. So it is to be noted that all age groups do not concentrate on online and the voting might differ among the stars. If the present voting is considered, Ajith is on the top and Vijay is just next to him, rest others are very far away in the race. Few of the Telugu actors who were in the race were not even nearer to him. Teaser talk : Masss April 25, 2015 13:56

Failure is a stepping stone of success. A failure gives a strength to be more careful. Especially in the film industry if this logic is missed out, the consequences will cost crores. Surya's previous film Sikandar was a disaster in both Tamil and also in Telugu. The huge stars like Surya and Samantha also could not help the film in any way as the script was considered to be very old. So this time, Surya is not taking any chance for another failure. So he planned a movie with the well known director Venkat Prabhu. The movie unit had released a teaser recently and it is now trending on all the social networking sites. The teaser begins showing Surya and from there picks up to the montage shots, fights, chasing and lot more. Throughout the trailer, Surya is shown in three different roles. At the end of the trailer, Surya is seen as a ghost with the sharp and long teeth. Previously Gajini was an experimental film in Surya's career and it garnered a huge success in Telugu too. Later even the Tamil hit films of Surya could not manage to do well in Telugu. Again after so long time, now it is 'Masss' which is another experimental film and and it is releasing soon in Telugu too amidst of high expectations. by Phani
