Kick is a successful flick in both Telugu and Hindi. After the first parts, the makers of both the languages announced the second parts. Now the Telugu version is anyway getting ready to release for this Summer and the Hindi version is about to begin the project.If the buzz is to be believed, Salman Khan decided to rope the same music director Thaman, who worked for both the parts of Kick in Telugu. Along with the script, even music has a good importance, specially the background scores worked out very well for the film and Thaman could manage to give his best output though being his debut film.    Now with his magic in the music, he even impressed Salman Khan, and now entering Bollywood to give some quality music to this Bollywood flick too.Previously it was known that Salman roped Devi Sri Prasad for Ready and scored a good musical success there. Former Odisha Chief Minister and ex-Assam Governor Janaki Ballabh Patnaik passed away in Tirupati early today. He was 89.The veteran Congress leader was admitted to a hospital in the temple town following a chest pain around mid-night but could not be saved, his family said.Patnaik, a three-time Odisha chief minister, was in Tirupati to attend the convocation ceremony of the Rashtriya Sanskrit University.Odisha Governor S C Jamir and Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik condoled the death of Patnaik while the state government announced holiday today as a mark of respect to the departed leader.A week-long state mourning was also declared, officials said, adding that the chief minister dropped his programme on the auspicious 'Aksyaya Tritiya' scheduled for the day.Patnaik's body was being brought here and the last rites would be performed in Puri.A multi-faceted personality known for his rich contribution towards literature and culture, Patnaik was born on January 3, 1927.The Congress stalwart became chief minister in 1980 and continued in the high office till 1989. He bounced back to power in 1995 and remained CM till 1999. Patnaik was appointed the Governor of Assam in 2009. Earlier, he was also a minister at the Centre.After completing early education at Khurda High School, Patnaik passed BA in Sanskrit from the Utkal University in 1947 and did MA in Political Science from the Banaras Hindu University in 1949.A pall of gloom descended in Congress circles with senior leaders including former chief minister Hemanand Biswal, leader of opposition in Odisha Assembly Narasimha Mishra and former Union Minister Bhakta Charan Das mourning his death. - Manohar

Volvo Auto India has launched the petrol version of the V40 Cross Country. The vehicle is available in a single trim - V40 Cross Country T4 and is the new entry-level variant. The new petrol motor of the V40 Cross Country T4 is a 1.6-liter GTDi (Gasoline Turbocharged Direct Injection) engine, putting out 180 hp and 240 Nm of torque. The engine is mated to a six-speed automatic transmission. Volvo’s latest creation for the Indian market is nothing short of an attractive package that aims to set a tone for crossovers. The V40 is very dynamic looking especially due to its exterior design that bears a whole lot of curves and straight lines. ExteriorsThe front façade has a perforated radiator grille, which is surrounded by a thick chrome strip. This radiator grille is flanked by a radiant head light cluster, which is powered by active bending lights (ABL) with motorized lamps that can turn up to fifteen degrees in any direction. It comes with dual xenon technology with low and high beam that adds to the advantage. It has a dual tone bumper that is accompanied by aluminum finished skid plate, which gives the frontage a rugged look and protects it from minor damages. It houses a wide air intake section for cooling the powerful diesel engine. This air dam is surrounded by a pair of bright fog lamps and it also has automatic LED day time running lights. The laminated windscreen gives better all round visibility while driving and it is equipped with a couple of intermittent wipers. The ORVMs are electrically retractable as well as adjustable and comes with heating function. The black finished window sill and B-pillar gives the side profile a decent look. It has a pair of roof rails in silver metal finish with black fleet and aerodynamically designed for maximum fuel efficiency. It has a sporty roof spoiler, which is integrated with a LED high mounted stop lamp that adds to the safety quotient. Its luminous tail light cluster is equipped with high intensity reverse lights and turn indicator.InteriorsThe internal cabin of Volvo V40 Cross Country model series is designed in charcoal black color scheme, which is complemented by ambient lighting. Its dashboard has a very soft feel and equipped with a number of features such as a large illuminated glove box with cooling effect, 3-spoke steering wheel with multi-functional switches, an instrument panel, which houses lots of functions for keeping the driver updated and chrome finished AC vents. According to media reports, 26-year-old right-hander Kohli, who is the captain of Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) in the Indian Premier League (IPL 8), will soon invest a whopping Rs 90 crore to open his own line of gyms. The gyms will be named as "Chisel" and it will be jointly owned by Kohli, Chisel Fitness and Mumbai-based Cornerstone Sport & Entertainment Pvt Ltd. Satya Sinha, the director of Bengaluru-based startup Chisel Fitness and one of the Kohli's partner in the joint business venture told TOI that "the total investment to launch 75 centers in three years is around Rs 190 crores." "We will launch gyms of various sizes and with different facilities according to their locations. We are also in talks with international sports-based fitness experts to bring in their expertise," Sinha said. Arvind Singhal, founder of retail consultancy Technopak was quoted saying as, "These days, the reach of fitness centers goes beyond just the top ten cities. Apart from his financial equity, Kohli's brand equity is so strong at the moment that it may catapult the chain to success". Internet connectivity through Project Loon of Google April 21, 2015 15:38

Google is planning to send helium balloons around the world and deliver Internet to users in remote areas. The project is named ‘Project Loon’ and was started in June 2013 by the top secret Google Division X and now is going for beta phase. Google will be conducting Project Loon trials in Australia, New Zealand and Latin America.  Mike Cassidy from Google says that Google will be using its own manufacturing facility and automated systems to deliver a balloon in hours instead of days. He stated that the company is ready to launch thousands of balloons in the skies. Each balloon is nearly 50 feet in diameter and electronic equipments hang underneath each carrier, which include radio antennae, a flight computer, an altitude control system and solar panels.Google has already tied up with leading service provides like Telstra in Australia, Telefonica in Latin America and Vodafone in New Zealand for end point connectivity. Cassidy stated that their testing of Project Loon revealed that the helium balloons can stay afloat for six months. Google can keep a real time track of the balloons and retrieve them once they have outlived their life or run out of helium.  Cassidy said that Google has developed allied software systems and hardware for the same. He further said about the new automated crane system for reliable delivery of the balloons in the sky and that Google can now launch dozens of balloons every day.Google has said that the helium powered balloons can be used in disaster regions like earthquake or tsunami affected areas, where on-ground communication has been destroyed, can provide much necessary real time information about the situation on ground.  By Premji
