Funds for car but no for women panel

In a bizarre, the Uttar Pradesh government has slashed the budget for state women's commission but has the money for two seven-seater Mercedes cars and two Land Cruisers for the 41-year-old chief minister, who is currently on a family holiday in London.

This shocking facts were revealed in response to a Right to Information [RTI] question posed by a social activist named Urvashi Sharma. In the last three years, the Samajwadi Party government has slashed the budget to woman's panel by 85 percent between 2011-12 and 2013-14. In 2011-12, the state's women commission got Rs 5.1 crore in financial grants and went down to Rs 4.16 crore of which Rs 3.9 crore was spent and for 2013-14, the allocation was further slashed to Rs 75 lakh.

Women's rights activist Neelam Ranjan was shocked by UP government budget allocations and maintained there won't be any change in the near future. The BJP has slammed the UP government saying the Samajawadi Party is not at all bothered for the public.

Even today, everyday five rapes cases are being reported in UP however most of the politician are only confined to condemn the incidents rather than visiting the victims and assuring them complete justice.
