On Wednesday, an unidentified man was killed by a shark off the western coast of New Zealand.

Moreover, the victim’s body was pulled from the water by rescuers at Muriwai Beach which happens to be a popular swimming spot west of Auckland. According to witnesses it was a great white shark.

A policeman was known to have shot and killed the shark from a helicopter hovering above the scene and that the shark was last seen floating dead in the water.

It's unfortunate that the swimmer had to loose his life while the shark too! That's why we say survival of the fittest!
