Clive Palmer, the Australian billionaire told the world on Wednesday that the latest design for the Titanic II and other plans related to it would be unveiled in New York with the help of John F Kennedy's daughter Caroline.

Clive Palmer had earlier announced his plans in April to build another Titanic ship. This ship he said would have the same dimensions as its predecessor which had met with a bad fate. He also mentioned a gala dinner on December 4 on the retired aircraft carrier USS Intrepid.

Caroline, JFK's sister Jean Kennedy Smith and New York Senator Ruth Hassell-Thompson along with leading US business leaders would be at the dinner, Mr Palmer said. They will be treated to a dinner from the same menu as Titanic passengers on the day it sank on April 12, 1912.

If all goes well, the first voyage of the second Titanic would be flagged off at China in 2016. The ship would be built at China and it would set off to England's Southampton before it would make the first journey to New York.
