CCTV footage not helpful in male fetus case

The CCTV cameras installed in the General Hospital in Sector 6 of Panchkula have not been helpful in revealing any clues regarding the recovery of the male fetus, only 7 months old, which was found in the women's washroom of the General Hospital.

The unborn fetus was recovered on 18 August and an FIR had also been registered with the police station of sector 5. Following the complaint the police have scrutinized the CCTV camera footage that was obtained from the hospital. The gynecology ward of the hospital had also failed to reveal any leads in the case.

The recovery of a fetus from a washroom was not the first one in general hospital. There was also another similar case earlier of a fetus surfacing in a washroom. A senior health official said that the problem would be solved only if they hire private guards for extra security and the proposal is being mulled over.

The cameras installed were of no use as they were present only outside the entry and exit. There was no camera that was located at the covering the entrance of the bathroom.
