Ujjain police bust car thieves

Ujjain police had identified and arrested a inter-state gang of car thieves who were notorious for lifting luxury cars. 18 cars that were lifted by them were recovered and at least 9 of them were luxury. The police had also recovered 9 motor bikes from their possession.

Upendra Jain the IGP of Ujjain had reported the same to the media. He said that two members were arrested after general checks and two vehicles were seized. Further interrogation revealed that they were no individual thieves but ones who operated in gangs in four different states of Maharashtra, Gujarat, UP and MP. A few RTO's have been preparing the documents for the bikes after submission of fake purchase proofs.

The kingpin of the operations is Gaffar from Thane, the IGP said. Hafeez Khan and Adil from Indore had been his accomplices.
The police said that the members of the gang were pretty successful in fooling the RTO officers who managed to register the vehicles after stealing them as brand new ones. These vehicles were used near the important places such as the government offices and other related places.
