Kingfisher to pay Rs. 12,000 to a passenger

The New Delhi District Consumer Grievances Redressal Forum has today ordered the Kingfisher Airlines to pay 12,000 rupees to one of its customers for booking a ticket on him on a flight that was not operational.

Delhi resident R P Singh booked round the trip tickets Delhi to Nasik on Kingfisher Airlines for April 27. When the passenger arrived at the airport, he was said that the flight was delayed due to some unknown reasons. Later, they informed that the particular flight on which he booked tickets was not operational. He was, however, adjusted on another flight to Mumbai and from there he had to travel by road. The passenger told the forum that the entire episode had cost him dearly as he was seven hours late to an important meeting.

The forum held Kingfisher Airlines guilty of deficiency in service and awarded 10,000 rupees for compensation besides another two thousand rupees towards litigation charges. On the other hand, King Fisher Airlines has said that the flight was not operational due to technical flaw and the management tried to reach R P Singh but to no avail.

All in all, Kingfisher Airlines is back in news for all bad reasons and people who get to know this news are unlikely to prefer Kingfisher Airlines. (Phani)
