Yasin Malik asks India&Pak to find out solution to Kashmir issue

The separatist leader in Jammu and Kashmir, Yasin Malik has today told the media that their party Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front will ensure that Kashmir issue gets resolved without the intervention of Pakistan.

He said: "We feel that the issue is being sidelined despite the fact that the guns have been dropped and people are resorting to peaceful protests to raise the issue. We will make efforts to get it resolved without the help of Pakistan."

We will step up our efforts to resolve the Kashmir issue if Pakistan, India and other international stakeholders continue with their irresponsible behaviour towards it," he added.

Malik has also said that Kashmiris would not welcome the status quo as it would not resolve the issue, according to him.  He said Pakistan and India should not hope for peace in Kashmir without giving a proper solution to the problem.  He has also hinted at the possible armed struggle in case both the countries don’t find solution.

Although he said he was in favour of Sovereign Kashmir personally, he said Kashmiris would be given a choice of joining Pakistan or India or having a sovereign state.

We have to wait and watch as to how the governments are going to tackle this sensitive issue. (Phani)
