Earthquake rocks Central Japan

Japan, which has been experiencing continuous earthquakes at frequent intervals after the deadly earthquake of March 11, 2011, was rattled by an earthquake of 5.5 magnitude on Richter scale today.

The quake shook the Yamanashi prefecture in central Japan early in the morning. There are no immediate reports of loss of life or property following the quake, according to the Japan Meteorological Agency

The quake shook 20 km deep at 7.43 am local time (2243 GMT Friday), according to reports. Japan is yet to recover from the earthquake and tsunami of March 11, 2011 that saw thousands washed away into the sea and destruction of thousands of houses. (JUBS)
