Japan death toll crosses 10,000

sunamiJapanEven as the death toll in the earthquake-tsunami hit Japan crossed 10,000 and lakhs of people found their homes missing totally or destroyed fully or partially, a second hydrogen explosion took place Monday morning in the crippled Fukushima Dai-ichi nuclear power plant sending columns of smoke into the air.

The government ordered all its citizens not to venture out of their homes as the nuclear explosion was heard as far as 40 km away from the plant location. The first explosion occurred in the same plant on Saturday.

The government evacuated lakhs of people with in a 10 km radius of the handicapped nuclear power plant.

Meanwhile, Japan continued to face problems as crematoriums were overwhelmed and rescue teams faced shortage of body bags. Reports said millions of people went without drinking water, proper food and power supply for the fourth consecutive day on Monday.

Rescue workers said that a big tide of dead bodies washed up the shores this morning along the coastline in the devastated north east. Adding to the problems, a volcano erupted in Japan sending dust and smoke nearly 3 km up in the air this morning.
