A Goan from Morlem village of Sattari Taluka had killed himself after an MMS clip which showed him and his girlfriend involving in lewd acts had went viral.

Arjun Mainkar, the deceased youth, 21 years old, was living in North Goa and had committed suicide on August 5th after he dreaded that the girl's family would cause harm to his sister. The MMS was shot  by Arjun himself with his cellphone.

He also alleged in his suicide not that the family of the girl was threatening to harm his sister to avenge the shame of the viral MMS.

The police said that it was only out of fear that he hung himself in a hut close to his house.

After the MMS incident, both families initially agreed to get Arjun and his girlfirend married. An affidavit was also filed with a local notary as they both agreed for the marriage.

A senior official studying the case at Valpoi police station said that the suicide note which was two pages long had accused that the mother and the three brothers of the girl were harassing him and threatening him that they would harm his sister.

According to section 306 (abetment of suicide) of IPC, the family of the girl had been charged but no arrests have been made yet.
