250 Pakistani Hindus allowed to travel in India
After being detained at the Wagah border for several hours, due to a controversy over reports that they planned to migrate to the neighbouring country, 250 Pakistani Hindus were allowed to migrate to India for their pilgrimage.
The pilgrims had staged a protest at the border for being detained but they had been given the green flag after interior minister had allowed permits for all the 250 people. They were all allowed to set foot on the Indian border at 2:30 pm.
A senior official of the Federal Investigation Agency in Lahore had said that they all have valid travel documents.
The Hindus from Pakistan had promised not to defame Pakistan or speak against Pakistan in India. At 8 am when the pilgrims arrived only two families of doctors had crossed the border to India. They were allowed as they had No-Objection certificates and it was mandatory to have the certificates to cross the border authorities said.
