Sufi shrine: Fire breaks out at 200 year old shrine

Dastageer Sahib, a Sufi shrine which was built nearly 200 years ago, has caught fire this morning. The shrine, which is in Srinagar, is one of the popular pilgrimage centre for Sufis. The incident of fire breaking in the holy shrine has sent in shock waves among Sufi followers. A couple of fire tenders were pressed into action and fire brigade plunged timely and doused the wild flames.
The police said the deity at sanctum sanctorum was not damaged. There were reportedly no casualties but public were disturbed over the fire mishap. The police are yet to ascertain the causes behind the fire accident.
