A 45-year-old prostitute died when she tried to escape from the window of a flat that was in third floor. The incident that took place in the wee hours of Tuesday even shocked the residents of railway colony in Parel.

The woman who was found lying in a pool of bed was rushed to the nearby hospital but was declared brought dead by the doctors.

If we look into the details briefed by the police, the accused Surendra Chauhan allegedly invited a call girl after his wife went to her parent’s home. She unexpectedly returned at 2 AM and knocked the door.

Surendra Chauhan, who was astonished to hear continuous door bells, feared to face his wife. He didn’t open the door. After waiting for about an hour, wife of the accused locked the door. Surendra, who wanted to get the call girl out of the flat, by hook or by crook, has forced her to make the window her way to flee. He tied a bed sheet to the balcony’s rod and in an attempt to go down, the prostitute slipped and fell down.  Surendra didn’t even bother to check as to what happened.

When locals saw this woman lying in blood, they informed the police. The police have registered a case against the accused under IPC Sec 304-A (causing death by negligence).(Phani)
