Gali PA Ali Khan surrenders in Bangalore court

Illegal mining czar and former Karnataka Minister Gali Janardhan Reddy’s PA Mr Ali Khan surrendered in a Bangalore court today.
Ali Khan has been on the run for the last six months and CBI has been unsuccessfully searching for him ever since Gali was taken into custody by Hyderabad wing of the CBI for his role in the illegal mining scam. The CBI has also issued look out notices for him but its efforts ended in a futile exercise.
The CBI suspects Mr Ali Khan, who looked after the illegal mining activities of Gali and his brothers, is in the know of things about Gali fully.
However, springing a surprise, Khan surrendered before the court today and was remanded to judicial custody till March 12. The Bangalore CBI has filed a petition seeking his custody for quizzing him about the activities of Gali and his family members. (J)
