Jagan stuck in water or quicksand!!
Was it the lust for power or the vindictive action that had put the YSR Congress Chief Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy in the present state of affairs? A question unanswered still lingers in the minds of the people. Noted media are giving their own assessments about the issue. There are still some apprehensions on the rapid speed of progress expressed by many. In a country when a kingpin of Mumbai serial blasts, Kasab is still facing trial, the people who were instrumental in the major assassination of the former Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi still asking for pardon, and the last but not the least, inspite of the Wikileaks detailed report many are at the helm and going about scot free, this rapid action is doubted by many analysts.

However the state never heard of this young Kadapa MP till before 2004 when he campaigned for the first time for Congress for his father in Kadapa region. Later he strolls to power as a novice MP and the issue is attributed to incumbency row as his father late Y S Rajashekar Reddy was the Chief Minister. But India has been witnessing such incidents from early days and there is not much to bother about. Then he parted ways with the Congress and waged a war against the power hubs by starting his own version of the political party YSR Congress.

Disproportionate escalation showcases corruption by the incarcerated leader from the records filed in 2004 when his assets were Rs 9.18 lakhs and later in 2011 Rs 41.33 Cr. By then the late YSR had died in a plane crash in 2009. Had the phenomenal rise been on records of Harvard alumni then we would have read it as a project but unfortunately this leader’s project has been read in charge-sheets.

CBI alleged that he had been getting his (extensive labor oriented) units funded by rich industrialists for gaining favors from the government when the late YSR was in power. Critics though agree on corruption issues, say that the positive point was the state flourished with a wider industrial base. However the protagonists claim that unlike many politicians listed in the Wikileaks who stashed their cash into Swiss lockers, this corrupt (alleged) man had pumped the funds back into the country for circulation. Financial analysts quote money circulated within, aids the economy, and not the hoarded.

Anyways this is the fifth day since the CBI has been investigating the alleged corrupt politician. Antagonists believe that this man influenced late YSR in getting his work done, but who will prove this vital aspect!! However the most blatant blunder committed by this leader is to build a palatial bungalow while claiming that his heart bleats for the poor. The ill gotten wealth is a burden on the person says the religious, true this young politician would have seldom rested in this palace. As he was on the 'Odarpu Yatra', since his father's death in September 2009, in a mysterious air crash.

Jagan is arrested by the CBI and was later remanded to judicial custody till June 11. This makes him immobile for the by-polls that are scheduled on June 12. YSR Congress is contesting all the 18 seats that are going for the by-polls in the state. This again is the doubts expressed by the protagonists who claim vindictiveness behind the arrest. However the antagonists claim that the doer has to suffer, but are unable to move further and keep barging over the issue at all public meets instead of discussing the various developments activities that they would usher if voted. In fact one major party has settled for saying that their focus is on 2014 general elections.

At this juncture how will things shape up and what would be the impact on the state. These are some questions added to the list of unanswered ones. All we could do is just wait and see. As the CBI issue curtains downs by the evening many believe that the ED issue will take centre stage. And the request by the YSRC chief for media address has also failed. However the next in league to bear the mantle, his mother, Y S Vijayamma is extensively criss-crossing and huge crowds are turning up too.

Terrorism and corruption are twins say critics; one kills the public while the other ruins the public. But when dealing with such elements no bias attitude must be adhered and everybody must be brought to the books. Is there a Hercules in this nation of billions to make this dream a reality!!
