First pill to help prevent HIV gets a nod from US

In a sensational move, the Food and Drug Administration in the United States of America, has approved the first drug, which is likely to lower the risk of HIV (which causes AIDS).Gilead Sciences' pill-Truvada can be taken by the high risk groups. The HIV high risk groups are those who have multiple partners. After 30 years of battle, Truvada got approval from the Food and Drug Administration.

Gilead Sciences In. brought out this pills in the year 2004 as a treatment for the people who are infected with HIV. The studies later proved that this pill has the capacity to even prevent the HIV injection. The study was carried out for about three years and finally came this solution.

Besides, condoms, people will now be apparently taking these pills before working between sheets with multiple partners. Since condoms are also considered not safe enough from preventing HIV entering the body, this medicine will presumably become the most sought after one.
