Wipro to acquire Promax Applications Group
Software major, Wipro is all set to acquire Australian based, Promax Applications Group (PAG). Wipro announced this on Monday and said that this take over would be a giant leap in expanding their analytic business. After the take over by Wipro, the company would be called Wipro Promax Analytics Private Limited.
The senior vice present and global head of analytics department at Wipro, K R Sanjiv has said that Wipro’s analytics business was steadily growly annually at 25 per cent. This department alone employees as many as 8,000 individuals, he said. Although he said the revenue that Wipro would acquire was negligible compared to the company’s overall revenues from analytics wing, he said that acquisition was mainly strategic.
The chief strategy officer of Wipro, Rishad Premji, has said that the company was mainly aiming at the acquisitions mainly to fill domain gaps and plat-form based cloud solutions besides to expand the geographical reach.
All in all, its great that Wipro is expanding its wings across the globe and with the latest acquisition it would have officers in South Wales, UK and many other parts of the world. (Phani)
