P&G to set up manufacturing unit in Hyd

FMCG giant Procter & Gamble has announced that it has decided to set up a manufacturing unit in Andhra Pradesh. The associate director of the company, Madhava Rao has said that the latest decision to set up a plant in the state is a part of the company’s move to spread its wings across the country. He, however, didn’t mention the estimated cost for the project. The proposed plant would come up in Hyderabad. It may be noted that as of now Procter & Gamble has five plants in the country.

He has also said that the setting up of new plant would turn as a boon to many unemployed youth. The proposed unit would not only give ample of opportunities to youths, but would also support education for poor children, he added.

Further, Madhava Rao has said since Andhra Pradesh Government is giving encouragement for setting up industries in the state, the company thought of investing in the state. It has to be mentioned here that Procter & Gamble has over 65 crore customers in the country. (Phani)
