Trains between Vijayawada-Chennai delayed
All Trains running between Vijayawada-Chennai-Vijaywada are delayed due to the ghastly fire accident that killed over 40 members and left several injured, in the early hours of the day. Many passengers are finding it difficult as most trains are stranded mid way. However Railway authorities are helping to ease the tension.
Chennai bound Tamil Nadu express from Delhi was involved in a fire accident at around 4.30 am while leaving Nellore Station (Andhra Pradesh). Coach no S-11 has been razed to ashes. A special train will carry the passengers of the ill fated train from Nellore to Chennai say railway sources.
"The fire was first spotted by the gate-man as the train was leaving Nellore for Chennai and he immediately alerted the station manager of Nellore. He brought the train to a halt," said the Nellore District Collector Sridhar.
Sources reveal that a kerosene can, was found in the S-11 compartment. This adds another twist to the short circuit theory. However details are awaited during the course of the day. (With inputs from internet-AW AarKay)
