Chiru to swear in as MP tomorrow

The megastar-turned-politician, Chiranjeevi is all set to swear in as Rajyasabha MP on Tuesday. Another Congress leader, Palvai Govardhan Reddy too will be swearing in as RS MP. Chiranjeevi is expected to reach Delhi in flight on Tuesday morning. PCC chief Bothsa Satyanarayana was earlier schedule to attend swearing in ceremony. He, however, had to postpone the same over the by-polls that are round the corner.

It may be recalled that Chiranjeevi was elected as a legislative member from Tirupati constituency from PRP. He was welcomed by the locals of the temple city where Chiru has a huge fan base. He, however, chose to resign and submitted his resignation to post last month after he merged with the Congress and after he got an offer from the Congress to become Rajya Sabha member. When Chiru’s PRP went into elections in 2009, the party failed to draw even a single Lok Sabha seat that reportedly disappointed Chiranjeevi. Although Chiru is now an MP, the party, which he represents is Congress.

Meanwhile, a large number of people expressed their displeasure over Chiranjeevi for moving out of temple city barely after two years. (Phani)
