The merger formalities of the PRP with the Congress party in the assembly are over today with representatives of both parties attending a final hearing before the Speaker and handing over documents to him on the merger.

Mr Krishna Reddy from the congress party and Ms Vanga Geetha from the erstwhile PRP attended before the Speaker and signed the merger papers as authorized by their respective party leaderships.

The merger of the PRP legislature party with the Congress legislature party in the assembly will come into force once Speaker Nadendla Manohar makes an official announcement. He is expected to make the announcement in a day or two, according to sources. (J)
