Car Pollution Can Lead to Major Eye Diseases

Car Pollution Can Lead to Major Eye Diseases:- With the number of cars coming up across the globe, the pollution too took a toll. A recent study indicates that the pollution caused due to cars can lead to your eye health. This develops degenerative eye disease that gradually erodes our eyesight. It is called as age-related macular degeneration or AMD. It can particularly target people over 50, and could possibly lead to irreversible vision loss. It can even cause slight problems with the vision or can even worsen the sight rapidly.

While age is a major one, the environment along with the genetics too contribute. 2.1% of the Americans over 50 years are likely to develop AMD when compared to the 0.9% of the population of other races. As far as air pollution is concerned, two major pollutants were studied, carbon monoxide (CO) and nitrogen dioxide (NO2), according to Gizmodo. China has higher levels of air pollution. Most Asian countries are struggling for air quality. Even in UK, which has better air quality, car fumes are known to be the cause of thousands of preventable deaths every year.
