NRI grooms cheating wives is not stopping even after media highlighting the issue whenever and wherever such incidents are taking place. In a fresh case, a young woman from Jagraon of Punjab alleged that her NRI husband, who resided in Canada had given divorce to her with the help of fake documents. Victim, who complained to the police about her husband has alleged that she married to one Jasdip Singh Sekhon in 2007.

Just like many NRI husbands, Jasdip too allegedly abandoned his wife in India and she was also subjected to dowry harassment. Having no other option, the victim filed a dowry case against her in laws. While the matter was pending in court, she happened to learn from her relatives in Canada that her husband divorced her. She was, in fact, not even aware about a divorce suit filed against her and without her consent how would her husband divorced her. This question worried the victim who sought the help of her relatives and found out that her husband created fake documents.

Parents should conduct proper enquiries before they solemnize the wedding of their daughter to NRI grooms especially because if anything untoward happens, then the life of the woman would go for a toss.
