NRI arrest case: Indian Govt follow ups

Indian Government has responded to the media reports on the arrest of the NRI couple, on the grounds that they were over-disciplined with their children. The Indian Embassy in Oslo of Norway sought the details of the arrested NRI couple. According to the sources, the embassy was closely working with the counsel of the couple in order to provide necessary legal help to them.

It may be recalled that V Chandrashekar and Anupama, who worked with a software major in Hyderabad, were deputed to Norway 18 months ago by their company on a crucial project work. The couple has a seven-year-old son who reportedly used to wet his pants frequently. Parents, in order to train their boy, warned him that he would be sent back to India in case he wets his pants again.

Accidentally when the boy had wet his pants a couple of months back, he denied to go home from the school. The suspected school authorities dug the information and informed the same to the local police, who eventually took the boy in to their care. However, a month later the boy was released after the authorities got convinced that the couple was not at the fault.

It was then the couple, along with their son came to India. But then they received summons from the court to appear in connection with the same case. Initially husband went to Norway and then his wife. They both were detained after the trials.
