A radiographer who claims that he could speak good English was removed from a UK Cancer hospital from his position for not several complaints that stated he could not speak English. Ramani Ramaswamy the victim however said that these complaints were cooked up.

Working at the Christie Hospital in Manchester, Ramaswamy was suspended from the national radiography register after several complaints were received from colleagues and patients that he couldn't speak and communicate in English effectively.
The Health and Care Professions Council opined that Ramaswamy lacked competence in several areas of work, according to The Daily Mail. A panel mentioned that his language was not understandable to the staff or the patients. They said that his English continued to trouble them despite his efforts taking classes after the job.

Ramaswamy was considered for the job in August 2005 after he was recruited from India as an experienced radiographer.
Ramaswamy denied allegations that he couldn't speak English properly. "It's totally ridiculous. I previously worked in Malaysia and I was very well respected...The Christie said there were communication problems but I speak good English. I may be a little reserved", he said. Ramaswamy now has no job and has retired from work.
