Wrestler Narsingh Yadav’s food spiked, suspect identified July 27, 2016 12:57

Information emerging from the SAI Centre at Sonepat points to the younger brother of an international wrestler in the super-heavyweight category, who has allegedly infiltrated Narsingh's room and contaminated his food supplements. He himself is a 65 kg wrestler and has represented India in the junior ranks. The suspected intruder was allegedly seen hanging around Narsingh's room when the 74kg freestyle wrestler was with the Indian team in Bulgaria. An FIR has been filed, according to Wrestling Federation of India. Narsingh himself also went to file a written complaint at Samalkha police station, near Panipat. "He claimed that he suspects a few people who may have spiked his food supplements and water," said a source in Haryana Police.Narsingh said that training in Sonipat was a huge mistake despite the presence of national coaches. "Had I stayed in Mumbai for training instead of Sonipat, I would not have landed in the dope trouble," he said.Meanwhile, wrestler Narsingh Yadav’s parents, relatives and neighbours sat on a day-long dharna at Achgara village in Varanasi demanding high-level inquiry into report about Narsingh failing dope test.“It is a clear conspiracy against my son Narsingh. We demand for high-level inquiry into the matter or CBI investigation because it is a big conspiracy by the people who do not want my son to participate in Olympic Games. We are also sending a letter to Prime Minister Narendra Modi demanding for inquiry into the matter,” said Narsingh’s father Pancham Yadav, a native of Neema Murari village in Varanasi.Narsingh’s elder brother Vinod Yadav said, “It is a clear case of conspiracy because he has been in the sport for the last 14 years and he knows what to eat, drink and which supplement he should avoid.”He added: “We could not understand why Narsingh would use anything which could hamper his career. Moreover, it is beyond our thinking why would his roommate Sandeep Yadav, who is not participating in the Olympic Games, would use such thing,” said Vinod, who is a railway employee in Mumbai. When contacted, Zilla Panchayat Member of Cholapur, Dileep Choubey, who also attended the dharna, said, “A meeting was organised after the dharna and it was decided to take out ‘mashaal rally’ in Varanasi everyday till July 30 seeking support of people on the issue.”By Premji

Aprilia SR 150 Bookings have begun in Parts of India July 27, 2016 11:06

Bookings for the sporty scooter Aprilia SR 150 have begun in Mumbai and Pune. A few of the dealers are currently taking bookings with token advances of Rs. 2000. Just last week, the price was announced as Rs. 65000 by the Piaggio Group. Though the price is relatively higher than most of its rivals in the scooter segment, the Aprilia SR 150 has been much awaited. So, the Aprilia already commands a good prospective share of the market too. However, the competition in the segment is not a cakewalk with both the Honda Activa 125 and the Suzuki Access 125, competing fiercely as the heavyweights in the market. They are also priced lower than the Aprilia SR 150. The Piaggio Group will now sell the Aprilia through the Vespa dealerships, though it had plans of selling the scooter through separate dealerships for the Aprilia scooter. The company may not take such a drastic step in the initial phases. It will all depend on the performance of the Aprilia to see if it will have a separate dealership as planned. The engine powering the Aprilia is the same as the Vespa's 154.4 cc, single-cylinder, 4-stroke, air-cooled engine; mated to a CVT (Continuously Variable Transmission). The power output of this engine is 12 PS and 11 Nm of torque. The Aprilia SR 150 is a very sporty and distinct scooter in its looks with the bold and aggressive telescopic front forks suspension and the larger tyres for a scooter. The headlamp is positioned much below the console in the mid-region of the front-shield. With a smaller instrument cluster, the handlebars and the position of the indicators seem to create better riding comfort. Though the bookings have begun, an official Indian launch will be made in August. Currently, the scooter gets a waiting period of 30 days. Source: Vicky.in
