Superstar Rajinikanth's Kochadaiyaan is proposed to start with a formal pooja on Friday. This is the first official function on the records of the team.

Kochadaiyaan defied the usual trends of the first look poster of all superstar’s films released on the day of launch. But the film’s director and daughter of the superstar, Soundarya Ashwin did it differently. She surprised the fans with a bunch of stills in January itself. The glitterati were done at the sentimental pillayar temple In AVM studios in Chennai. The superstar after the muhurtham emerged out of the dressing room dressed in the attire of the Character. He looked magnificent in the stills released on the internet that became viral. The function was attended by many stalwarts of the tinsel world. Soundarya Ashwin the director and KS Ravikumar the film's supervisor along with Latha Rajinikanth, SP Muthuraman, Cho Ramaswamy and few others were present at the occasion say sources.

The other stars in the cast of Kochadaiyaan are Deepika Padukone in the lead roles along with Sarath Kumar, Aadhi, Sneha, Naseer, Rukmini Vijayakumar and many more in important roles. Music is being composed by AR Rahman while KS Ravikumar supervises the project.
