Kavitha Withdraws From Supreme Court Her Plea Against ED Summons March 19, 2024 16:56

Kavitha Withdraws From Supreme Court Her Plea Against ED Summons:- K Kavitha, a prominent leader of the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS), has decided to withdraw her plea challenging the summons issued by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) in connection with the Delhi excise scam case. The daughter of former Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao, Kavitha was taken into custody by the ED on March 15 and was kept in their custody until March 23. As a result, her plea against the summons has become unnecessary. The ED had previously accused Kavitha of colluding with the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) and providing them with Rs 100 crore in order to gain advantages under the now-defunct Delhi excise policy. Kavitha had been questioned three times by the ED last year in relation to this case and was summoned again this year, but she refused to appear, claiming protection from coercive action granted by the Supreme Court. The ED has described Kavitha as a key conspirator and one of the main culprits in the Delhi excise policy scam, alleging that she and her associates were involved in recovering the proceeds of the crime that had been paid in advance to the AAP in order to generate profits. In the meantime, Kavitha has claimed that the government was "exploiting" the ED because the BJP could not find a "secret way in" to Telangana. Her appeal against the arrest by the ED is still awaiting a decision from the Supreme Court. The AAP has accused the BJP of employing the ED and CBI as their "thugs" to eliminate their political adversaries. (Video Source: MIRROR NOW)

Praveen Kumar joins BRS in the presence of KCR:- In a gathering at K Chandrasekhar Rao's Erravalli farmhouse, RS Praveen Kumar, former BSP state president, enthusiastically joined the BRS, alongside some former party colleagues. Expressing his joy, Praveen mentioned that being a part of the BRS allows him to work under KCR's leadership. He emphasized that the aspirations of Telangana align with those of the Bahujans, and he believes that their ideologies will blend naturally, much like the merging of Godavari-Pranahita and Krishna-Tungabhadra rivers. Praveen also disclosed that he left the BSP because he disliked the pressure exerted on him by BSP chief Mayawati to end the alliance with the BRS. Speaking highly of KCR as a leader cherished by the people of Telangana, Praveen addressed the criticism he faced for joining the BRS. He clarified that he was not motivated by personal gain or packages, as joining the Congress would have fulfilled that purpose. Instead, he joined the BRS without any expectations. Praveen shared that CM A Revanth Reddy had warned him gently against joining the BRS and even offered him the TSPSC chairman's position, which he declined. ఆర్ఎస్ ప్రవీణ్ కుమార్ గారితో పాటు పెద్ద… pic.twitter.com/CzzXBPV7vZ — BRS Party (@BRSparty) March 18, 2024 If I were to join the BRS, I would be held accountable to the public, but I still have the freedom to make political decisions. Like Revanth, I also come from the former Mahbubnagar district. The CM should avoid making such warnings," he expressed. In the meantime, KCR declared that he will soon appoint Praveen as a general secretary of the BRS. The previous CM also dismissed the claims made by certain groups that his party's defeat in the Assembly elections was due to the impact of the Dalit Bandhu scheme. "Many individuals are suggesting that the Dalit Bandhu had an effect on the BRS's election prospects. This is not true. Numerous people have benefited from this program," he stated. Telangana Governor Tamilisai Soundararajan Resigns:- Tamilisai Soundararajan, the Governor of Telangana and Lieutenant-Governor of Puducherry, has stepped down from both positions today. According to sources, she is expected to run for the Lok Sabha election in 2024. Ms Soundararajan, who previously led the Bharatiya Janata Party's Tamil Nadu unit, took office as Telangana's Governor in November 2019 and later assumed the additional responsibility of Lieutenant-Governor of Puducherry in February 2021. It is speculated that she might contest for the lone Lok Sabha seat in Puducherry, currently held by the Congress. The BJP believes that she has a strong connection with the people of Puducherry. In the past, Ms Soundararajan has contested elections from various seats but has not been successful. She ran for the same Thoothukudi seat in the 2019 election and lost. In 2009, she contested the Chennai (North) seat but was defeated by TKS Elangovan of the DMK. The arrest followed a day-long interrogation and a search at her residence in Hyderabad. She is expected to appear before a special court in Delhi today, possibly in the afternoon. During the search, the ED found five mobile phones at K Kavitha's house. A witness stated that the ED presented a search warrant, but Kavitha initially resisted the investigation. However, the search eventually commenced. The operation at K Kavitha's house began on Friday at around 1:45 pm and concluded at approximately 6:45 pm. In the arrest order, the ED investigation officer stated, "I believe that Smt. Kalvakuntla Kavitha, wife of Mr. D R Anil Kumar, residing at H. No. As provided in section 19, sub section (1) of the Prevention of Money Laundering Act, 2002 (915 of 2003), I, therefore, exercise my authority to apprehend Smt. Kalvakuntla Kavitha at 05.20 pm on 15.03.2024. She has been duly informed of the reasons for her arrest, and a comprehensive document detailing these reasons (spanning 14 pages) has been presented to her. This action follows nearly two months after the Enforcement Directorate (ED) issued summonses to the 45-year-old BRS MLC. Last year, she was questioned on three separate occasions in relation to this case, and her statement was recorded by the central agency under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA). The BRS leader previously asserted her innocence and accused the BJP of utilizing the ED to gain unauthorized access to Telangana. It is worth noting that Kavitha was also interrogated by the CBI in connection with the money laundering case. The ED initiated their case after taking into account the CBI's First Information Report (FIR). The investigation revealed that a group called the "South Group" was formed by a cartel. This group included Telangana MLC Kavitha, Sarath Reddy (promoter of Aurobindo Group), Magunta Srinivasulu Reddy (MP, Ongole), his son Raghav Magunta, and others. Pillai, Abhishek Boinpalli, and Butchi Babu were the representatives of the South Group during the investigation conducted by the federal agency. (Video Source: ABN Telugu)

Breaking: Kalvakuntla Kavitha Arrested March 15, 2024 19:37

Breaking: Kalvakuntla Kavitha Arrested:- The recent arrest of Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) MLC Kalvakuntla Kavitha in the alleged Delhi liquor scam case has sparked controversy and political speculations. Kavitha, daughter of former Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao, was taken into custody by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) following searches at her residence in Hyderabad. Her brother and BRS working president, KT Rama Rao, voiced concerns about the ED's actions, alleging a violation of its undertaking in the Supreme Court. The timing of Kavitha's arrest, just before the general elections, has raised suspicions of political motives, with the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) being accused of orchestrating a targeted move. BRS spokesperson Krishank Manne highlighted the ED's prior notices to Kavitha, suggesting a pattern of timing with significant political events. The ED's investigation into the alleged liquor scam involves allegations of kickbacks to Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leaders for influence over the liquor business in Delhi. The arrest of Kavitha stemmed from revelations made by businessman Arun Ramchandran Pillai, who claimed to represent her interests in the case. The ED's scrutiny of the Delhi liquor policy scam and its implications for AAP leaders has intensified the political climate surrounding the issue. As the Election Commission of India prepares to announce the Lok Sabha poll schedule, the developments in Kavitha's case have further heightened tensions between political factions. The nexus between corruption, political influence, and business interests in the liquor industry underscores the complex dynamics at play in this unfolding saga. (Video Source: NTV Telugu)
