$1,200 Internet bill in Airlines

A Toronto consultant was asked to pay $1,200 for using internet and that too in a flight. The man boarded Singapore Airlines last week and he received a nasty bill from the airlines authorities. Shocked by this amount, the man took it this issue to social media platforms and suggested the air travellers to look for a free internet provider airlines.

The man is identified as Gutsche, head of the consultancy website Trendhunter.com. He was on a flight from London to Singapore last week and says he signed up for a 30 MB internet data plan offered by the airline for $28.99. Gutsche wasn't streaming movies or video chatting with friends, had 155 page views, mostly reading his email.

Singapore Airlines did not reply initially to this issue but later defended saying the airlines was in touch with OnAir, the Switzerland-based internet provider for the flight. The service provider OnAir, also responded on the issue and claimed that the using of Skype, downloading heavy attachments results in consuming hundreds of megabytes.

Gutsche responded to this and disagreed with them. “They had to put a bill of $1,200 on someone and I was it.”
