SBI to have cutting edge
Good news to State Bank of India customers! The bank has waived off the minimum balance rule for its saving account. So, one need not maintain a minimum balance in the account. Incredible, but true! SBI accounts are hereafter zero balance accounts. So far one needed to maintain a minimum of RS. 1000 in the account failing which he/she would be attracting the penalties. And now one can draw even the last hundred rupees from the account and keep zero figure in the account.
The bank officials have said that this is one of the major moves ever taken by SBI. The banking experts have said that scores would now tilt towards SBI from the private banks where one needs to maintain a minimum of Rs. 10,000 in the account. Also, there are other recognized banks which still charge a minimum amount. With this move, SBI would be retaining its customers as well as increasing its fanbase across the country.
