It has been revealed in a report that Dr. Reddy's Laboratories has formally launched the Ibandrobate Sodium tablets (150 mg), a bioequivalent generic version of Boniva tablets in the US market. The Boniva brand and generic had US sales of approximately USD 486 million for the most recent twelve months ending March 2012, a company release said.

It may be noted  that earlier last month Dr Reddy's got node from the USFDA for formulating another new generic drug for treating Parkinson's disease. The drug ropinirole hydrochloride XR has been developed to cure the signs as well as symptoms of the illness. It is an extended version of the old medicine Requip XL manufactured by the company. It has been found by IMS Health that Requip XL had a sale of nearly $58 million in the US last year ended March 2012. The drug is currently available in 30 count bottle sizes, says the report released then. (With inputs from internet- AW AarKay)
