Delhi airport to turn most expensive

The Airports Economic Regulatory Authority (AERA) has made a decision on Wednesday for increasing the charges at Indira Gandhi International Airport in Delhi by 346 per cent. This means, an average persons will have to burn his pocket from the time he parks his vehicle till he boards the flight at the airport. Yes, the increased charges would be applicable to landing charges, parking charges and other charges such as user developmental fee.

It has to be mentioned here that by increasing user development fee, passengers—both domestic and international—would face extra burden. The Airports Economic Regulatory Authority  has said that the increased prices would be effective for two years starting from this year. The new decision taken would come into effect from May 15.

Meanwhile, Indira Gandhi International Airport has asked Airports Economic Regulatory Authority to increase the flight charges by 774 per cent.

We have to wait and see as to how people are going to respond to the sudden increase in the user development fees. It is most likely that domestic travelers are going to express their displeasure over the same. (Phani)
