Bajaj Avenger Goes Red and Green; New Colour Schemes

Bajaj stuck to its policy of one or two colour schemes, during the launch of the three Avenger motorcycles last year. However, the Indian automaker had to revise its policy to launch two new colour schemes for the Avenger Street motorcycles.

TheĀ Avenger Street 150 is now offered in a Cosmic Red colour scheme, while it was launched with a Midnight Blue scheme. The Avenger Street 220 was sold in Matte Black colour, while it now gets a Matte Wild Green scheme. The Avenger Cruise 220 is also likely to get the Cosmic Red scheme of the Street 150, as it had been spied in early 2016.

Commenting on the new colour schemes, Eric Vas, President - Motorcycle Business, Bajaj Auto, said, "The introduction of two unique new colours in The Avenger Street lifts the style of the Avenger to a new level in the motorcycle industry. We are confident that the introduction of Cosmic Red and Matte Wild Green will find immediate appeal amongst the fast growing Avenger fan-base across the country."

The Avenger Street 150 shares the Bajaj Pulsar's 149 cc DTS-i engine, while the Avenger Street 220 is powered by a 220 cc, single-cylinder motor. The Bajaj offers its almost-standard 5-speed gearbox that has been used in many Bajaj models.

Bajaj saw a sudden spike in sales, ranging from 25,000-30,000 units of the Avenger range of motorcycles each month, after the successful updates that raised sales from mere 3,000-4000 units.

The colour schemes come with no extra cost. So, both the Cosmic Red Avenger 150 Street and the Matte Wild Green Avenger 220 carry the price tag of Rs. 75,500 and Rs. 85,497 (ex-showroom prices, Delhi), respectively.
