Long, straight hair is the most preferred type of hair for extensions and women with such enviable mane are being held at gun point for their ponytails. Robbers in the Venezuelan city of Maracaibo force women to tie the hair and then cuts it off.

Hair has suddenly become precious and even hairdressers are unabashedly charging clients nearly £322 ($500) to weave real extensions into their hair. Plus, demand keeps increasing.

It's probably why the robbers are selling stolen hair to salons. This gang, which steals from long haired women, goes by the name 'Piranhas'.
