Yet another Trinamool Congress leader made controversial remarks on rapes and crime against women and this time, it is Diamond Harbour MLA Dipak Haldar. On Wednesday, Deepak said there will be rapes as long as Earth exists which turned controversial.
“There was rape earlier, there is rape today. As long as the Earth exists, there will be rapes,” said Dipak at a public meeting in his constituency. The Congress and other parties have seriously condemned these remarks while National Commission for Woman chairperson has demanded West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee to sack Dipak with immediate effect.
Earlier Trinamool Congress MP said, “If the CPM people touch a hair on the head of my workers, I will set my boys upon their women to rape them.” These insensitive remarks from their leaders is bringing new headaches to ruling party.
