Self Bag Drop Facility Introduced In Bengaluru Airport:- Bengaluru airport authorities introduced a new feature of automated baggage check-in facility for the travelers. Kempegowda International Airport (KIA) officials explained all the passengers how to opt for a web check-in to drop their bags without waiting in long queues. The passengers can drop their bags and head to the boarding gate. Special machines have been placed at the counters of the specific airline to place the luggage on the conveyor belt near the counter.

The weight of the luggage will be digitally revealed and if the luggage meets all the specifications, the machine prints a slip bearing the bar code and will be tagged to the luggage by the machine. The passenger will then have to key the PNR number into the boarding pass through kiosk. The luggage will then be shifted to the cargo hold. This facility will be available in 16 counters initially and will be increased up to 83 counters soon.
