Indonesia's Lion Air Flight Crashes In Sea After Minutes

Indonesia's Lion Air Flight Crashes In Sea After Minutes:- Lion Air Flight JT610 crashed right after 13 minutes after it took off Jakarta, Indonesia and crashed in the sea. The incident took place at 6.30 AM local time and as per the information from the Lion Air authorities, 189 people have been on board including the crew members. Lion Air Flight was travelling to Pangkal Pinang from Jakarta. A footage of the plane debris and some of the personal items of the passengers has been making rounds on internet. The Boeing 737 MAX 8 is a new aircraft and started operating two months ago. The airport authorities revealed that the pilot requested a return back to the airport soon after the flight took off.

The location in the sea is said to be 30-35 metres deep. Boats, helicopters and 130 rescuers have been sent to the location which is located at 34 nautical miles off Jakarta coast near the Java sea. Images have been released by Indonesia Disaster Mitigation Agency and the search for Emergency Locator Transmitter is on. The plane took off from Soekarno-Hatta International Airport in Tangerang, Greater Jakarta at 6.21 AM local time, and had been due to land at around 7:30 AM in Pangkal Pinan. With 178 adult passengers, the air craft carried 1 child, 2 infants and 2 pilots along with 6 flight attendants. Indonesian Government offered sympathies to families and hopes the search and rescue process goes smoothly.
